Purple Kush + Super Skunk DWC Recirc 3 x 600watt

New Grow room and some new purple Kush! On about day 8 Flower.

I finally finished my new room, the last one evolved, but was a lot of maintenance. I have a DWC with recirc setup, goodbye to PH issues.

Story on hgow i got me Kush - West Coast Purple Kush from seed and Super Skunk. Been growing the SS for the last year, my mate was given two Purple Kush seeds when he visited the west coat, drunk one night he said lets get em going, so he threw them into some rockwool, and gave me one, i looked after it, then after about 6 weeks, sex showed, i had a female, yehaaa! Well she become the new mother.

Ive got two 600wHPS, and just about to add my third 600 cool tube, to fill the dark spot.

Next Batch, cant believe how quick the Kush is growing, overtaking the SS. Got me clones of the Kush and SS ready to go again in a few weeks.

Since i moved to the cool tubes, venting outside to outside, no temp issues.

Me mate dropped off the third 600watta today.Put it in and it has made a big difference, no dark areas.

I still need to do some tweaking to finish off and be satisfied.

I am hoping i wont have a temp increase with 3 lights, I dont think it will using cool tubes..... took about 2 meters of waste ducting, trying to keep it short as posisble for maximum air.

Tweaked the lights bit today and they seem to be providing better coverage. Gave the girls an increase in Nute Strength tonight to hopefully fatten up the new flower growth.

I was worried as my Purple Kush doesnt show any purple, but i have found some good info on the strain.

"If allowed to go 9 or 10 weeks indoors she will turn a solid purple. She'll start turning purple around week 7 or 8. Buds are thick, dense and resinous."

100% Indica, Flowering 50-60days.

She had a smell to her even i veg!

From what i have read this stuff is dynamite and very hard to get hold of.

Are you growing under MH now?
And if so, don't you think it's about time to start flowering? Those plants will stretch like hell if you go 12/12.

Thanks for the comments on the room, it took some serious effort to plan and measure, and a solid week of effort to build, i made it all out of timber. I built each section seperate, hoping it would all come together. WHen i went to take the walls in, they wouldnt fit throught he door ... OUCH! So the plan was to slice em, then join them again once in, worked!!! The measurements worked out perfectly...

I am happy with the setup now, not fighting temp issues all the time now.

The Purple Kush is looking really good.

Found i had the nutes a bit to high 1.4, so running at 1.2 now.

I have one more soil grow to complete so I will have mothers, then I'm switching to bubble buckets like you but on a smaller scale; 2 buckets one 600W.

I just installed a cool tube and was disappointed because it seems to steal light vs. the old batwing I had. At first I used aluminium dryer duct then I found <a href=http://doitbest.com/Dryer+vents+and+hose-Builder's+Best-model-N100017-doitbest-sku-263516.dib>this</a>. It is cheap, made of PVC so it can take the heat, and allows some of the light that is lost in the duct to come through. I think it will help you more than me because you have so many lights and a lot of ducting running inside the grow area.

What is the typical height of your plants at harvest? I'm kinda worried about it when I make the switch to hydro because if they get taller than 3 1/2 feet the tops will be too close to the light. You think I can keep 'em under 4 ft--not counting bucket height--with a 6 week veg cycle? How long do you veg before flowering?
