| First Grow: Bagseed!
Hey GC, This will be my first attempt to growing Cannabis! Ill be using Bagseed to learn the process and how this weed grows. My plan is to learn how to Germinate,Vegetate and clone - Once i get this down, ill go ahead and start flowering - I will be plan on doing a SoG operation, After i get everything set-up and running! I have not yet finished my Whole basement, still in the process of working the kinks out in the mother/clone room, and havent touched the flower room yet ( Guess you can call me inpatient! ) I will be using the Lucas formula, I have yet to determine my Ph of my water - Ive ordered all my Nutes, and ph meter - should arrive in the next 3-5 Business Days.. Ive been using water from Wal-mart, Thease 16oz Beer cups have Soil that was 4 dollars from walmart ( No Nutes in them ) and i have mixed some MC Perlite into it, about 75% Soil 25% Perlite. I Tried not using MG, but that was the only perlite that was available to me - Am i making a mistake here? The water i used to soak the soil before the seedlings where in again, was from walmart, and i used Superthrive2 drops to be exact. Ive Sucessfully Germinated 11 seeds ( 6 sprouted 5 are in cabinet still ) ive been testing , a few germination methods for myself. Ive used the paper towel method, had about 75% Success, and i filled a empty beer cup with warm water, and again 1 drop of Superthrive, 3/4 seeds popped - out of 11 plants, i think 5 are in cups and 6 are in Peat Pellets, i wanna see how well thease work out for me, i will be using Rapid Rooter, and wanted to get a general idea how they work with cheap ones! Anyways, im all over here with my journal, have no clue where to start this, so please just ask me questions! Show me the light experienced growers! My Room/Design thread is here http://forum.grasscity.com/grow-room...-included.html Im not done, so that is being updated as well! I have 8 CFL's on my young sprouts, 4 Coolwhite and 4 Daylight, eventually thease lights will be for my clones only. Here are some Pictures! Sorry for the Quality, i just bought my woman a fckin 200 dollar camera, and i cant seem to take a good close up shot of the cups, Bullshit, oh well, few days they will be bigger, and you can see them! |

I think the miricle grow perlite is fine, it is most of their soil's that are no good. I think it is natural for thwe perlite to change to brownish orarange. It has nothing to do with the lights which should be 3 inches from the tops. I also like your setup. It looks good. Best wishes I will be watching.

Looking good so far, I can't see anything wrong. Miracle grow actually has some good organic soil, has no plant food and its for veggies and such and my plant loves it to death, so that kind is good to use. The perilite, I have no idea on. I personally didn't get perilite, gonna use it later on I guess lol. Just as long as your soil has its oxygen. Good Luck! |

looks good man, plants are pretty tough once they put out their first set of leafs, dont over water them and they'll do fine |

looking real nice dude.. FYI Miracle Grow perlite does contain added nutes (it says it somewhere on the package) not sure how much though but it's in there.

I just remember being at the hardware store and almost buying some.. then i noticed it said "added nutes" i didn't look at the numbers so i'm not positive how good or bad it is. | |

Alright here's and Update! I started to Germinate about 6-15 more Seeds - I Insulated my Basement today, put up the rest of the screens around the flower room exposed to the foundation. Im currently building a Aeroponic Cloner, which will/should be done tomarrow! I found my poor jiffy pellet experiment flopped over this morning! So i hurry, and spray some water on him with a little Superthrive mixed in, about 6 hours later he is up and going!I under estimated the jiffy pellets, they dry out pretty quick under those lights... i lightly watered my plants today, when i put a little bit if water, some flushed out the bottom..not much.. Nothing exciting yet, still waiting on my nutes, and 400 watt hps. I was told or i read somewhere, its best to let the plant look for water, then to over feed correct? I guess i experienced my first plopped over plant, bit of water fixed that! Still dont know my ph - Nutes should arrive any day now. |

dude if i was you i would ditch the jiffy pillets they suck! they put me back 5-7 days!!! Give us a good shot at how you mounted those lights. CFL are the hardest thing to figure out how to mount and everyone always comes up with there own very unique design. you should look into LST or SOG ect. With as much time as you like to spend with your plants it will give you somthing extra to do and MORE BUD!!!! thats my fav part ![]() Idk ANY about the rapid rooter i would like to know whast up with it tho!! I subscribed it will be interesting to see the difference in our grows GOOD LUCK MAN!! peace and pot dude!!! Last edited by lovindahaze; 03-12-2008 at 07:09 AM. |

How i mounted them? Well, im cheap - i just nailed them into the trust above them, easy to adjust ! But i might be moving them - Making a Aero Cloner tomarrow, and need more space. ![]() Quote:
