SH DWC Kit 18 CFL's

alrighty everybody im making this grow journal for a couple of reasons but yrah lost my train of thought so here we go
using
Stealth Hydro's 4 planter DWC kit
added 2 extra 4 inch bubble disk
added a hydraiter(found at petsmart)
Stealth Hydro Nutes,PH up and Down, and foliar spray
right now using 2 seeds from a mix pack from DNA genetics/ 2 afganiXMoroccan

lighting: 3 42W 2600K CFL, 4 26W 2600K CFL, 11 26W 6500K(total W=516)
not equivalent about 1 inch away from plants for the time being
Air movement:20'' box fan(intake), 16'' oscillating fan(exhaust/moves air)
closet grow 3'/4'/8' with poster board with 90 degree bend pvc pipes attached so i can keep light out and allow for my intake and exhaust(removed for pics)
specs:
Temp 72-74
Humid 44-55
PH 5.8
ppm 500

i think thats all we need to get started the two pics are of the plants as they currently are at day 5

all right it wont let me post a couple of my pics but they are in another thread which you guys should check out anyways we are going to compare our grows becuase he has the bubbleponics and i have DWC plus experimentation and documentation can only make things better heres the link: 1st Time Grow Hydro/Scr0G/ICE/T5

Wow, 18 cfls for 4 plants, That's not bad...

You should calculate the total lumens of those bulbs... just for fun

I will be watching for sure haha

Thats pretty tight man, How are you hanging all of the lights?

I have 3, and its already a b* to do... because my lights are just kinda hanging.

I have aprox 9000 lumens on my 2 plants, and I let them see the sun during the day.

Im sure yours are going to grow So fast because of the hydroo

it was a bitch to figure out but after you do its not soo bad after that
i have built 2 lamp kits and used 3 Y splitters to create 4 light bulb sockets then a have a black limp w/ a reflector in the middle of those, one screwed into the wall and a whole shitload of clip-on lamps and all my lights are on there own power strip which has a heavy duty programmable timer on it.

Haha, CFLs FTW!!! That's a lot of lights, bro!

I like the set up. One thing I'd say though is to maybe get some different PH up and down. I tried using the Stealth Hydro PH up despite reading a lot about it causing white build up in hydro systems and it...caused some white build up in my hydro system lol. Because of that, I don't use anything other than liquids in my system anymore. It was pretty nasty.

I honestly haven't heard much of anything good about the Stealth Hydro nutes either. However, I know some people have had success with them.

Think we can get pics of the intake/outtake? As you know I'm having trouble with ambient and water temps.

I'm not real sure what I'm looking at. I see what might be a small hole for intake or exhaust in the 3rd picture and that oscillating fan in the 4th and 5th.

I don't know what to tell ya about the nutes, as this is my first grow. I do suggest using liquid instead of powder though. The lesser the amount of solids in the res the better off ya are IMO.

alrighty heres a lil bit better pics but they still kinda suck all right the first one is of my intakes(two 4'' holes that i have 90 degree 4'' pvc pipes in to keep light in/out)
next is of my exhaust which i just have a spot at the top of my closet where i put a 90 degree pvc pipe(also 4'')
also i have a 18'' oscillating fan that blows over the plants and a 20'' box fan that butts up to my pvc pipes

the last pic should be how my lights are now since they are past their 2nd leaf set so they can handle a bit more

alright i came to my first problem in a while there was some algae on my roots on a plant that i really looked forward to growing(the leaves were going purple from the underside towards the top) it is Grape FX though
but anyways there was shit all on my roots so i thought well could it be the res.
nope the res is clear as a whistle as well as it is the only one of the plants that has it
so i found it was leakin hella light through the hydroton and i put it in a new rockwool cube and redid the hydroton so it kept the light out but some of the roots did fall off do you think it will make it?
