Nah, I haven't checked it all out like that. I've noticed that at least half of the ICE buds look like friggin almost all seeds now. Man.

I've overly sensitive to THC as it is, being as I don't smoke that often anyway. Hopefully then the bud will still be alright for me.

So if it is a herm, can I expect the Aurora B to start growing seeds too? I don't mind some seeds, but I don't want the buds to be taken over like they seem to be on the ICE...

And if it's a herm, will it still be smokeable bud like it would be if it just got pollinated?

I think if you get high easily, hermie bud will get you high. Hopefully it has not fertilized the others. You might want to go in there and look very carefully for the male pollen sacks and pinch them off if you can.

So, if a plant is seeding the THC level drops because of the energy being spent making seeds...then whatever I get will be weak. Awesome.

Being the nature of the ICE, (the size, the half above the screen, half below the screen, etc), I don't think I'm going to check every node on the plant. I literally just don't see it happening.

When I look at the ICE all I see is bud and seeds. I havent' seen what I think are male organs anywhere...thought it's hard to see through all the damn brown hairs and seeds. Ya know, all the white hairs turned brown a day or two after I had to cut some of the dead roots off, then in another day or two I had these damn seeds...

Anyhow, here's what the ICE looks like:

I see a bunch of seed pods and brown hairs, but I don't really see any mini-bananas or anything. That's what I'm looking for, right?

What I'm curious about it the Aurora B. What do you see in these pictures?

Btw, the PPM of my tap water has apparently risen to 400.

I dumped the res again tonight and put nothing but tap water in the mix. The PPM was 500 at that point. Only reason for the discrepancy between the tap water PPM and the tap water in the res' PPM that I can think of is that there is still a small bit of dead root matter floating around in there even with the fresh change.

I put

4ml FloraGro
10ml Hardwater Micro
16ml FloraBloom

35ml H202
10ml PH down (it was 6.5)

in the mix.

I'll check the readings in a bit. I've been letting it run for awhile.

I also added 3 2000lumen 6500k CFLs in the box just for the fuck of it. I was going to use them for cloning but I really don't think cloning either of the two I got growing is the best idea at this point.

One other strange thing: I noticed what appears to be sap coming off the very base of the ICE. Sticky, clear, sap. Is the hermie bleeding or what? I've never read about this. I've got pics if necessary, but I figured someone would know why the main stem of one of my plants seems to be bleeding clear sticky sap...

Fuckin hell.

I'm about to take a poll as to whether I should just take these plants (at least the ICE) by the main stem, rip it out of the screen, throw it on the ground and dance on it for awhile...

I've got some grotesque root pics coming. (I think the ICE is about to die anyway)

As you can tell, they're already going purple/gray again. I considered chopping the dead shit out again, but last time I did that white hairs turned to brown hairs and pretty ICEy buds turned to ugly ICEy seed monsters.

Of course, last time the purple/gray dead root shit was left to its own machinations, the other ICE died because of it.

Fucked if I do, fucked if I don't. Oh fuckin well.

PH seems to have stabilized with this last res change. I believe it was all the dead root matter that was causing the PH issues...which led to all the yellowing and other leaf problems.

Res temps seem to be abnormally high for some reason. It's been about 74-75F the last couple times I checked it, and that's while doing the frozen water bottle trick. First I thought it was the 3 CFLs I added, because they're kind of close to the res (I was trying to encourage lower bud growth on the Aurora B) but I turned them off, checked again 8 hours later and the res was 74F again.

I'm going to up the water bottle treatment to every 4 hours during the light cycle and one bottle for the night cycle. Hopefully that will help keep the water chilly.

ICE is not showing any signs of impending death yet. I guess what I will do is leave the roots be for now. If everything turns purple and it looks like it's going to die I'll chop off the worst section(s) of the roots and see if I can keep it alive. I don't want to perform root surgery again at this juncture because:

1. That's what caused it to herm in the first place

2. It causes a lot of dead root matter which wreaks havoc with the PH and takes at least 3 res changes to fix



So...whoever reads this journal...feel free to speak up about any of my issues and what you'd suggest or do in my position. I am a first timer after all .

Anyone want to tell me about that sap? lol

Any time bud, yeah you are looking for balls.
Hydro pH should be 5.2-5.8 above you said 6.5 which is way too high.
Otherwise all looks good.

One thing I was hoping you guys would tell me is if those 3 pics of the Aurora B a couple posts back tell you anything? Are those balls? Is it a herm too? Or am I just tripping?

Could the ICE have started seeding itself without any male organs or something lol? Could it be possible that I'm just getting lucky with the ICE not preggin up my Aurora B?

What's stranger to me is that it looks like a bunch of those seed pods have started growing hairs out of them. No idea what to think.

Regardless, my PH has stayed super-stable. I've been able to keep it between 5.2 and 5.8 all week w/o issue. However, my res temps have kept trying to stay high. It was up to 75F at one time, but I've been combating the issue with frozen water bottles.

Anyhow, here's what I'm hoping:

-I can keep the ICE alive for the whole flowering period despite the root issues and get some seeds plus some decent bud.

-The Aurora B stays all woman and I get some killer dankage off her.

Yes it would seed itself if it went hermie. But if it did that you would see balls somewhere. Check to see if there really are seeds in their instead of the normal false seed pods.

False seed pods occur on all budding females. They look like the pods where the seeds should be but they are empty. They are called false seed pods and are completely normal.
