yet another boring post... (they'll get better)

a lil over three days germination

looks like all 6 will pop, 2 have tap roots

these seeds from highgrade are fresh indeed! Even with the super extra long wait I'll still order from them again (after I get some herijuana from sannies)

no pics cuz you all know what seeds on damp paper towels look like

it's too bad it's a sunday...

I am either gonna have to wait til tomorrow to put them into little baskets OR be super sneaky about it!

I am gonna start seedlings in 4" baskets & hydroton and move them into lavarock once roots break out of the basket

The lavarock container will be 8" pots with a bunch of 1 3/8" holes in them for circulation

The waterline will be at the top of the lavarock and the hydroton will be above it

It was either that or bash up some lavarock to get a layer of small gravel sized pieces for them to start in

we'll see how it goes...

New Stuff!

Went out today and got myself a new 125 watt envirolight for vegging!

I opted to just buy the bulb and the mogul plug for it, and will make a hanger/housing

the veg hydro system is also almost complete and running right now

pics to be coming tomorrow

seeds are all germed and in little baskets waiting for seedlings to sprout

I can hardly wait!

the veg system almost complete

This is my machine!

Sorry about the lighting, that damn environlight is bright!!

I painted most of the parts, but it needs a lil touchup because I fucked it up a little while assembling

specs are its a 400gph pump pushing through a 1/2" feedline and out a 1" solid piped pvc drain that falls into the lower res...

the bottom res is about 18 gallons and the top is about 10

with the pump off it drains enough that I could move the top root zone (bin) IF I realy had to, it holds about 5 gallons below the intake (I figure if I ever lose power I would rather the root zone drain to below the plants baskets so they dont drown and I could add a battery powered air pump (bubbler) IF I had too...

It's got a shitload of lavarock in the bottom of the root zone and the 4" baskets sit snug into the top with the bottoms about 3/4" into the solution

That should be enough no?

"to do's" I have remaining are I need a float rod to see the res full- needs to be filled lines, will use a dowel and a pvc pipe to float it in, the drain needs paint, and it has no nutes in it yet

Question...

here's a first look!

this was yesterday, today I have all 3 WW and 2 of the white russian sprouted
(the third was buried too deep, it will pop up soon)

when do they go into the system?

Can they go in now??

also devised a float rod to be able to see res levels at a glance!

when dowel goes below the fitting, the res is low

Hey man just a thought . You may want to label those pots with some tape or something. It would be helpful to know what strain is what. I would move those sticks and forget which plant was what.

Just a thought.

the sticks are just for now, but thanks

I saw somebody put colored rubber bands around the seedlings and that was a pretty slick idea

and Thanks gonejah! the death star comparison is great!

I'll have to get some Skywalker someday and unite the bloodline

IF
I ever FINISH painting it, which will not be until after this round goes down to flower in about 6 weeks it'll look even cooler...

Gonna build another bigger (~40 gallon) system for flowering!
