me too!

So far I am wishing I had gone to hydro and better seeds a LONG time ago!

I have been growing for almost two years and this is just as cool as the very first time growing was if not more so!

Oh smell smell great smell of Ganja.
I personally like the soft sweet it makes me want to eat the flowers.
The fruity type is OK I guess, it smell fresh but not tasty.
And the sour penetrating type I'll knock you off your feet smell is promising but a bit too chemical for me.

That's what I think anyway.
Enjoy the aroma!

Smell

I've got a can fan setup and couldn't imagine growing without it. I keep it on 24/7 cuz the smell at night while they are sleeping is even worse. I have a 24" can filter and had to replace it after 7 months. The smell was coming out of the old one.

The hydro guy said that refilling it with new carbon was expecsive and hard to get the corbon thingy full without a shaker up machine. So I replaced the filter for less than $100.

If I smell up the grow area too much I'll get shut down so I can't afford any smell leaks.

That white widow is the smelliest strain I've grown yet. Good luck. Don't wait too long it's going to get ALOT stronger.

a quick ppm question is in here...

yeah, thanks thanks and thanks for all the input as always compadres!

once it starts to become an issue I will deal with it, but I am not too concerned atm

they are still babies and the herbs growing outside the veg chamber are much more pungent still (though they wont be for long) and I will be putting them down to flower in a few weeks and that "room" vents out into a HUGE area of about 25,000+ cubic feet of air (it is not 25,000 sq feet, its about 2,500 sq feet x 10 feet tall) so I am hoping to have time until THAT area smells before I have to worry about odor control (it vents into an unused basement)

IF I have to add vents to veg they too will push warm air down into the basement

but I am too lazy to do that soon, opening the door and putting the fan on is still a viable vent solution for now

Humidity with the hydro system in the veg chamber has been great at about 65-705 RH ambient temps go up to about 75 and res temps are between 20 - 22C most of the time
(it's really dry here, humidity is always on the low side until now)

I am glad to not be flowering in the same place, its too damp, the flower area has got LOTS of airflow

PH has been kinda stable, though it is starting to drop a bit which I think is kinda weird & the ppms are barely moving

I am thinking the ppm stays pretty steady because there is just SO much water in the system and at this size they just don't consume much?

does that sound right?

The plants don't look like they are in need of anything and I have not added nutes since the I brought the ppm as high as I think I can go under this cfl (at about 940 in 250 water)

I didn't think I'd be able to go THAT high in veg, but that's what the meter reads and I dont see any new tips burning or anything

very very nice man! I guess that's good when the roots are twice as long as the plant? lol

I guess...

I still think it's fucked up to be able to SEE roots!!

They are supposed to be underground like ROOTS

but I do kinda like the fact that I only had to DO something to them once over the course of this week

I am still in there all the time poking at em and stuff, but so far it's been a no brain grow at all... no algae, no fungus among us, they have not needed more food, lights good, ph adjust was easy...

I ALWAYS over feed with soil and more often than not over water too so I was thinking hydro would be harder for me to fuck up!

Its three numbers, temp, ppm and ph

the holy trinity

I HAD a mini fridge in the garage for years

loaned it to a friend and let's just say I aint getting in back
(he did not steal it or anything like that, it was removed from his apartment)

I would be able to keep the veg chamber cooler IF I ran some venting, it's always cool in the basement (that takes WORK though, so I aint doing it!)
