Billigreen's Other Flowering Clone

So it's time for a journal for the big sister of the two (the smaller girl has her own grow journal posted below).

Same strain as the smaller sister, but this one we allowed to grow with no topping and an extra 2 weeks of veg. It's a true Christmas tree, and the sativa characteristics are undeniable.

Right now it's flowering under 2 60 watt CFL's and 6 28 watt CFL's. When it's sister is done we'll transfer the 250watt HPS to her for the last few weeks of flowering. In the meantime we hope to add to more 60 watt's...but we'll see where the finances take us in the near future.

The node development is really close, and the top cola looks to be in the process of creating a HUGE coned-bud. It's going to be exciting to see how that fills in.

We'll be updating regularly...check in to see updates!

(note: last picture shows both sisters together. Results of topping vs. not topping are ridiculous...)

the plant was cloned from a bagseed plant. right now the plant is 3'8" and the smaller toped one is 1'6". the plants were cloned at the same time but the smaller one was toped 3 times and the taller one was never toped. also the smaller plant was put into flowering 2 weeks earlyer (which accounts for some of the height difference). if your small on space i would sugest topping, scroging or lst (theres lots of info on GC). but they grow almost the same way.

ps
this plant is not all stativa it is just stativa dominate

i dont know if that answered your quesion fully but stativas take longer to flower and they are skinnier

i dont think that topping makes them stretch. with some strains it can cause them to be stunted tho. i did notice that there are much fewer bud sights under the main colas the more that stock was toped. the short bussy plant has 13 top colas that are all amost 3" in length so its not a wast of time to top a plant, my next grow will be toped like the small plant just veged another 2 weeks to get it taller.

it has been interesting the last few weeks watching both plants flower. are you asking about the growth strech when you put the plant under 12/12? or just the distance between nodes? right now both plants are looking great. the tall plants top cola is looking fantastic to me because we havnt grown this strain without toping before so we are excited to see what it produces.

the decision to top or not top in my mind depends on your growing environment. these two grows are a good example of that. The tall plant is running out of space and we might have to do some rearanging in the closet to make it fit. the small plant on the other hand has lots of space that it isnt using but both plants are probably going to produce about the same amount... maybe (the tall plant should produce more but it was veged 3 more weeks so im taking that into concideration). the downside of the busy plant is that you can only fit one busy plant under the 250 and i could probably grow 2 untoped plants the same sise under the same light. so its all what you prefer. if you want 10-13 2-5g nugs or 1 - 2 supernugs just make yourset up proper for the type of growing you are planing to do.

personally i like the toped plant. it is much easier to manage and looks like it is using the best of its space but maybe thats just because its further into flowering so the buds look beter.

ps.
the taller plant has started to produce res and the bush has started on its purple hues

You've asked this many times, and I don't know what you want to hear. Topping naturally splits the stem into two and then grows up...no bud will grow at that connection, technically still a node. Because of this, I assume you think that the plant is "stretching". If that's what you want to know...I'd say it's about an inch.
The taller plant hasn't "stretched" due to any factors besides light. I can't give you a 100% comparison of stretching either because they're under 2 different light sources and one plant wasn't topped while the other was topped 4-5 times.
