| small improvements.
today i went out and bought two timers, one with 2 on/off's and one with 24 on/off's the fancy one im gonna use with the fogger, i cant have it heating up my rez too much. so il probably use it a few minutes every hourl. And the othe rone im gonna use to switch the lights from veg cycle to flower.l i also bought some plastic electrical wire covering, to make the spiderweb of wires in my cab nice and neat. when im done its gonna look much better. I FINALLY bought a oscolating (sp?) fan, it was a clip on and didnt work out in my cab so i had to customize it, pics below there are also pics on of the timers and wire plastic wire tubing. i bought plus a small update on the seedlings, its day 3 and only one worries me, so i guess were off to a good start. thats what i said, this is what i meant to say in proper american its hard to get used to set the max up and max down, because you have to set it based on a middlepoint, which is not visible, and you have to work it out..........MATH ![]() so it takes me a while to set it up, but its easy as pie to operate. you really dont do anything but make sure its not broken.......... sounds good to me!! | life goes on... this is a continuation of the grow journal in my sig, and posted above.... Quote:
i had to go through a shit load of work just to reduce the tube distance allready. the only thing i can think of, is exhausting the hot side of the fan straight up instead of out the back. but that would only eliminate one bend, but other than that, what else can i do? if i move the fan closer to the tube, then its gonna be longer to get to the filter. catch 22 right now it holds steady at 84F with the lights on, is that really that bad? im allready doing experiments with the setup, filter on max temp 84 filter off max temp 82 (I really dont think the filter is a problem) im gonna do a test with the duct fan, and see if its helping or hurting my air flow, and see what happens with the temps. | update
i did a quick count today, and i have 4 out of 6 that are rooted through the rock wool and not its a race to the bottom of the net, one of them i WAY advanced, its got a taproot with nice hairs about...6 inches long i got woke up to snag a zanny and check my cab. i took that inline duct fan out of the system, and I RE-set my thremometer so when i wake up tomorrow I can check the maximum temp. and then ill know if its beter or worse. im also gonna do the same test with the filter. it has been on since i got done with the last test, but im trying to do this as controlled as possible. i have a small window unit that maintains a constant temp of between in the mid-low 70's so far it looks like its better without the inline......shocking ![]() im gonna speak wayyy too early, but i think its gonna maintain 82.... with the filter also, one of the plants that was retarted, i ripped open the rockwool and "unstuck" the tap root. so hopefully it will recover. i have allready started germing a couple seeds to replace it, if it dosnt work. well 82 is ok if ur shure that the temp in the room wont rise for some extra 8 degrees that can screw your grow --- if u wont to drop it a bit --- the curve steals 10-15% of the power --- the length of the pipe is less important IMO --- and its also important to keep it straight right after the fan so that outcoming air wont meet a wall or a 90 turn right after it comes out of the fan--- good luck

| kinks....
i had a minor flood, but nothing big, the aeroponic fogger, the same type used in the nutramist, shoots a stream of water out with the fog in it. like bubbles, but it has to be close to the surface. or it wont work at all. it was shooting water under the top of the tub and pouring down the side...what a mess, not only that, but if anyone every get one of these things, dont fuck with them while they are on. it shock your finger, kinda tingly. so far from germination, to date, which is about day 8, i have a VERY decet ammount of roots. i think the fogger promoted that explosive root development. as i understand it. ive read it in books and tons of post's. but the top part of the roots needs mostly air, minimal water. the middle of the roots are more happy with light ammounts of water, either in a sprayer, or fogger, or mister. and the bottom roots love to stay swimming in water, its the nutrient highway, it acts as a wick to feed the plant. also as a backup incase anything fails, with roots hangng in water it will keep them alive until you can do surgery and make it happen. you some of this adapted in every form of hydro, nft use's the first two parts DWC uses all three, and it can be made even more productive with this aerofogger, to give each part of the roots what it wants. ergo.....OPTIMAL GROWTH. like a root mat at day 8 !
