my first grow journal

hello all! Iv been growing for a while but on this grow i will be keeping a journal. I'm growing in an aeroflo2 20 site system using 16 of the spots.

The mothers are in a separate room under a 400 watt metal hallide.

I figure ill just keep the four moms vegging and take cuttings each time i harvest off of the system. Therefore, i will have all female cuttings going into the hydro system and budding 2 weeks from cutting the clones.

I'll be using a combination of flora nova grow and flower with silica blast, floralicous bloom. I have a tds and ph meter with ph up and down. the ph of the water is 6.0 and the plants are already starting to root.

first bump in the road

Hello all. The clones are rooted. They took only 7-8 days to root which is very impressive against my old bubbler cloner. Now here's the problem, The bottom most leaves of the clones are discoloring and slowly bcoming more and more yellow.
Here is the very begining of the leaf discoloration begining:

These two pics are obviously the more yellowed leaves on some of the clones. I don't understand why this is happening.

The nutes are clonex rooting solution, some silica blast and about 1teaspoon of flora nova grow. I put so little because roots formed just now so they don't need major nitrogen yet do they?

i flushed my dying mothers and the ones that look like they want to die but i still have 3 that look great with no issues so we shall see
why i have dirt issues but no rockwool/hydro issues i have no idea
i cant afford to go all hydro so i need to find a solution quickly
maybe the coconut/verm./perlite mix will help
ill be starting some of those as soon as i can get the stuff hopefully friday before work

hey

in my experience the clones always loose the lower leaves like this, as long as the new growth looks good no worries buddy....

why use such an intense light, flrscnt are good nuf for clones and mothers

I find that everyone here is using a 400w mh to veg, but a cheapo flrscnt shop light is good nuf for veg and mothers, plus it doesnt wank your electric bill. you'll achive the same results without pulling all the watts... just my thots
