Yeah I've got frozen gems for her melons.

Anyway.....I've chopped off of the few 'won't amount to anything useful' mini-buds and even they are forming seeds.
It seems I'm gonna end up with a truckload of beans.
This is good and bad.
The bad part being too many seeds for me to use after harvest, which means if I would have messed with it a bit could have improved my effiency by growing less seeds and more buds.
The good part being me having plenty seeds, which means no need to produce more seeds anywhere this decade, which is extra good because these genetics may be hermie prone.

So it's a blessed evil icy emerald kinda thing.

a decade of seeds!

That's great!

mordgrow went and confused the hell outta me with the whole fem'd seeds thing and now I am wasting time thinking about it instead of working...

THANKS!

and a male hermie - I wonder how often that would happen if they are flowered.

Are they as equally prone to it as a female is?

Hey IMgreen check this out : http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-...es-action.html
SkmnVTEC sums up all my hermie knowledge right there.

108 days ago I stuck the seeds in the soil, 36 days ago I switched to 12/12.

If you look closely you can see the seeds developping, it's very obvious where they are growing.
(left click thumbs to go to gallery, then right click and open in new window)

Judging from the few amber pistil hairs I see I've got at least two more weeks to go, maybe even three.
The nugs themselves do not apper to become as big as I'd like so I guess all this seed forming indeed takes its toll.
Nugs are getting nice and icey though, no complaints from me there, this shit's here to get me toked!

Seeing all those seeds develop makes me wonder what happens in nature.
Does MJ start dropping seeds before the plant dies, or do the seeds to down with the plant together in fall?
Also, will my seeds be right for planting right after I harvest?
Or will they require some kind of winter (time period) to harden out or something?

thanks man!

I'll be happy if I can get a few seeds out of each strain for now, maybe I wont even try until I do 6 of each (I am doing 2 strains now and don't wanna mix the genetics, so prolly no seeding this time around, least not on purpose)

you can plant your seeds whenever you want, the are ready pretty damn fast

Fear, they look great man!! really nice plants dude and only 36 days in 12/12 they're gonna get fat!

i'm pretty sure you can plant a mature seed right after you take it from harvest.

peace man,
AW

Do the seeds have to be brown already?
Sample buds now come up with green seeds, that I can still squash with two fingers if I try and their insides are all white like printerpaper.

i don't think those will work maybe too young. I beleive they need to be more matured w/ a brown/black shell.
I could be wrong though.,

urgr8setfear,

While looking into a first time grow about 6 hours ago, I ran across the first of your grow journals. Since then I have been straight up captivated reading all of your journals from beginning to end. I really appreciate the detail in recording the evolution of your growing process. The journals themselves combined with meaningful and relevant discussions with members like SmknVTEC provided comprehensive insight into the everyday trials and tribulations of growing. I only hope that once I get growing I can share my knowledge as effectively as you have....and also get B L A Z E D !

keep up the good work man!

Question for you. Why do you angle your main stem so much? Your putting extra pressure and stress on your plants roots by doing so. Have you noticed any benefit doing it this way? I lst so the main stem grows straight up a few inches then I tie the the trunk from both sides. Then I start pulling the main stem where I want it.

Thanks for the support guys!
I was kinda hoping my growjournals would be of use to somebody!

121 days ago I stuck the seeds in the soil, 49 days ago I switched to 12/12, 2 days ago I switched to 0/24 (darkness).

Swa_Swa, when I start LST-ing the main stem is still fresh green and flexible so it takes the 90 degree bend with grace.
But with time the stem hardens expand and pushes the original bend of out shape.
So you're right, LST-ing main stems is best done from two sides.

I've axed my plants today.
The small sample buds I cut off tell me the seeds formed are totally ready in the big buds.
Also, allmost all pistil hairs are amber and the small leaves sticking out the nugs are sugarcoated.

There's no shortage the blessed sugar on these babes, although they've produce many many seeds.

I'm expecting hundreds of seeds at least.
So in order to test these seeds I've started grow #6, NLX from homegrow seeds. (check my signature)

Here check the pics of the harvest, which I find to be small.
But that's not a wonder since the plant devoted so much energy into making seeds.
I'll keep you all updates with dry yield measurements and seed counts.

As I see it now the upside of this grow is a zillion seeds, but the downside is low yield.
Not something I'd like to do repeat any time soon...I want some big fat monster yields in grow #6.

a zillion seeds is definitely worth a low yield imo

if it's only a few thousand than I am not so sure...

lol

how much less (a general guestimate, like 30% etc) do you figure yield was decreased?

I am gonna seed a white russian next so I am curious

I'll go look for your new thread and subscribe...

I'm not sure what % of yield I've traded for seeds like this.
But that's something we can discover during my next grow.
