Mushu's PC Case grow, Speedqueen
Well ladies and gentlemen, I must apologize with not sharing this with you all sooner but i've been hangin out over at icmag.com mostly for the first part of this grow. Finally came back to share it with all of you lovely people as this is where I started my little adventure into growing back in june.
What we have here is just a plain old PC case thats been stripped, painted with a gloss white on the inside, fans wired, lights strung up, and two plants currently growing Case dimensions are 18"Hx7"Wx15"D. I'm using 2x27w(100w equiv) @ 1300 lumens @ 5500K, and one(soon to be switched to all three) 23w(100w equiv) @ 1600 lumens @ 2700K. Plants are in day 5 now of flower, and day 20 of growing. Temps are average 72-78* during full lights, and about 50-60* during lights off... I rarely check the temps at night so thats a guesstamet. Humidity is around 50-60% but with the airflow i have I dont expect i'll have to many problems with mold. For smell, i'm currently using a Febreze TrueAir carbon scrubber that plugs into your wall. The lights I also have are the Fresh2ti bulbs that are Odor eliminating bulbs, you can check em out at www.fresh2.com. I also have some carbon filters i'll be installing once i get my new 80mm fans and fan grills.Without further adu... Here's the ladies... Hopefully ![]() Edit - Pic of the plants three days ago along with a shot of the electronics setup ![]() Day 20 from seed, day 5 of flower Katelyn ![]() ![]() Erin ![]() ![]() And the PC case... Yes, i realize theres light leakage on the side panel... But i'm at a loss of how to take care of it. The light on the back will be taken care of when I install the new fans. ![]() Any questions or comments are gladly welcome, i'll try to answer them all to the best of my abilities ![]() Enjoy the show, Mushu ![]()

Thanks for the replies guys... Hope it all goes well so i can see just how awesome it is
![]() Unfortunately... Its a sad day over here @ Mushu's.... I was redoing the LSTing i orginally had done and i was actually amazed how tight i had the strings. I have some picks and you can see where the string was tied as its alot smaller than the rest of the stem. The sad part is... As i was undoing the string on the upper growth on katelyn... I accidentally, i guess, sawed? part of the top growth off ... I have pics to show you guys what happens when you LST too tight... So katelyn might turn out to be a bit shorter It's still held on there by SOME plant tissue, but it was kinda listing a bit to one side... So i dont expect it to be alive(the top part) when i come back from the weekendI'll be leaving this afternoon till about saturday afternoon hopefully so i'll update when i get back and if i can get internet access where i'm at, i'll comment on any replies. Plants are gonna be watered just till it fills up the saucers they're sitting in, they suck that stuff up pretty quick, and i use it as my watering indicator when they've had enough. Sad pics for the day - This is what happens when your LST is too tight, you can also see @ the top of the pic, in the upper left hand corner, right below the leaf, theres another ring, thats where the other string was tied... This is erin, and she recieved no dmg other than those rings. ![]() And heres the damage to katelyn.. You might have to look closely to spot it, i did the best i could. In the first pic it just looks like a ring right below the top growth in focus: ![]() This pic you can clearly see the damage to the stem, Its not sitting like it is in the pic now, i've got it more or less level... But again.. I dont expect that part to make it through the weekend =/ ![]() Sad times ![]() Later, Mushu

I think you will be ok. Speed Queen can take A LOT of stress in my experiances
One of the reasons I ordered it in the first places is because it was "very easy to grow." I've heard plants fix most cuts on their own, just leave that top part on and hope for the best.I'm on 1 week and 3 days of reveg and my speed queen is already starting to show new growth! I like this strain a lot. Really good for a newbie ![]()

Update Day 26, 11 of flower
Well ladies and Gents... I'm back from the weekend finally.. Soil was a little dry when i came back last night but they didnt seem to mind, gave em some h2o and they drank it right up. Katelyn seems to be healing up VERY nicely. I trimmed the leaf that was directly above the site of injury as it was pretty shriveled when i came back. Other than that shes doing good, growth was slow as to be expected, but shes doing just fine. My only problem now is I wont be able to LST her as it's not strong enough and it feels like it'll break off if i do... So i'll wait some more an see what she does, i might end up implementing a screen for scrog. Katelyn ![]() ![]() ![]() Erin had some good growth when i came back, I trimmed off a bottom leaf that had some spots on em but on no other leafs, the leaf was a single fan leaf that was just above the spot where the seed sprout leafs were. A bit of leaf was damaged right above that one but i left that one on. Pics at the bottom show what i'm talking about. Not sure what it is.. But its not any other place on either plant so im not going to worry about it unless i see it becoming worse or spreading. Erin ![]() ![]() Weird parts on erin.. This fan leaf has been cut already. ![]() ![]() Thats it for now... Plants are looking mighty healthy so far and not showing signs of sex yet either. About how long into flower will that start? I thought it was pretty quick. Either way.. I'm having fun ![]() Mushu

they are looking good, once you see that stem strengthen up again you might be able to LST them again but if anything dont worry about it and learn from mistakes for next time

I was able to wrap a stick and some duct tape around it to strengthen it up, so hopefully i'll see a knot form here soon and i can re-LST it

Well guys... Another sad day today... Just discovered that both of my "ladies" are actually dudes
Now i have to rename them Kayle and Eric ![]() what do you guys think... Looks like balls to me ![]() ![]() ![]() If that actually turns out to be the case, i'm actually going to harvest the pods and keep them for future use to make more seeds for myself on any future ladies, or if they turn out to be hermies... Which i doubt, looks all man to me, i'll let them run and only pollinate lower branches. O well... Gives me time to redo my cab and scrubbers and do a possible SWC ^_^ Actually.. can you use males for hash? If so anyone wanna throw out a good hash making link? I've looked at some and it seems pretty easy.. just wondering if itd be worth it. Mushu ![]()

Well... They're Definitely males...
![]() I chopped them down earlier today, put fresh soil into the pots, and planted two new seeds to start over. I said screw saving the pollen as i hear it doesnt keep to well. I'm pretty proud of my first run, i've learned a few things as anyone with a little smarts will do after doing something new... Plants started out healthy, and died healthy, I just need to keep an eye on that PH this next run. The plants also had a pretty good developed root system too. They pulled out of the pots just fine with pretty much all the soil which surprised me. And all the visible roots looked white and healthy which i hear normally in soil grows they get all brown and grungy... So this grows over... I'll be making a new thread and redesigning my case a little bit tomorrow after my fans arrive ![]() ![]() ![]() Look for Mushu's #2 round, coming soon to ICmag & GC forums near you! ![]() Later Mushu ![]()
