| Napkins First Grow
Had about 7 bag seeds saved up from a while ago that I tried germinating. The first seed to germinate had a huge taproot that was starting to come out but after I planted it nothing happened. A couple days later 3 other seeds germinated and those are growing nicely. The other few didn't do anything. I started off with all 3 plants under one 26-watt CFL but yesterday I set them up so each plant has their own light. Plants are about 1.5'' from the bulb. I am giving them a little water about every other day. Comments/Suggestions are appreciated. Here is the 3 plants on day 2: ![]() This was what my setup was for the first 6 days. ![]() My setup is now this: ![]() Here are my plants on day 7: |

Had some problems with leaves curling down. I think it was because I was using MG Moisture Control soil with time release ferts, so I re-potted them in bigger containers with regular soil. One of them seems to be recovering and the other is still about the same. I had the lights off over night because I was too lazy (too high) to redo the lighting last night but I got everything set up this morning and the lights are back on.

Day 12: Both end plants have rebounded and are a ton bigger. The middle plant is still slightly stunted but is also recovering and growing. I am drying the soil out pretty good in between waterings and the plants seem to love it. |

| A lot of growers who use soil like to let them go until they're actually starting to wilt a little bit before they water. It helps the plants to develop a stronger root system since they have to reach for that last little bit of moisture in the bottom of the pot.

Plants have really taken off in the last few days. I decided to go ahead and transplant them into 12 inch pots.....should have done that in the first place. I still have 1 light per plant but I have the parts to hook up 4 more bulbs. The stems seem strong but the leaves are drooping a little.

Day 16 Plants are doing good. Don't know when I should start fertilizing them. I picked up some Miracle Gro Tomato food. I will probably add another couple lights today, and probably start to LST them. Last edited by napkin; 11-12-2007 at 01:58 AM. |

New soil should have enough in it to sustain plants for a week or two. Wait until 1-2 weeks after transplant then feed them at 1/4 strength.

Changed my set-up but I will be changing it again soon. I have the plants under 2 42'' 40-watt 3100K fluorescent tubes and 6 26-watt 6500K CFLs. I took a 2 gallon water jug and mixed in 2.5 cups of sugar and 2.5 tablespoons of yeast and there are a ton of CO2 bubbles forming. I think the yeast CO2 generator has cause a slight improvement in growth. I haven't watered them in 3 or 4 days probably. The plants don't seem to be needing much water. I'm going to be gone tomorrow until Sunday so I am going to give them a good watering before I leave. The plants seem to be responding to the LST pretty well.

I watered them last Thursday gave them each about 1.5L of water with 1/4 strength MG Tomato Food and then maybe 1/4L before I left Friday. Came back today and had the tip of one leaf touching a CFL and was burnt to a crisp but other than that for the most part they seem to be doing good. The plant in the middle is still a lot smaller than the rest. I dunno how much longer I should veg them since I don't want them to get too huge and they will probably double in size during flowering. Probably another 2-3 weeks at least.

The plant on the left is beautiful. The middle one still has small leaves and I just fimmed it...hoping maybe it will grow out a little. The one on the right is in the middle in terms of growth. I hope the big one is a female so I can clone it. Haven't watered them since last Friday but they don't seem to mind. I gave them each about 1.5L of water today with about 1/3 strength MG Tomato Food. These things seem to be growing pretty dang fast for being under florescent lights. I hope I get at least 1 female so I can clone this fast growing strain. It will be interesting to find out what strain it is since these are from bagseed.
