Day 29

Plants are growing alright. The middle one is still smaller, and a few of the bottom leaves have turned yellow, so probably a pH problem or not enough nutes. I think im going to up the nute strength to 1/2. My grow area is also about 4 feet tall and the plants in the pots are about 2 feet tall. I'm thinking I shouldn't wait too much longer to flower them because of space issues. What do u guys think?

Yes if you are running out of room flower them. Those 12 inch pots are what 3 gallon? They might still grow some during flower. They look good.

IDK how many gallons the 12 inch pots are. People say that the plants double in size during flowering. Is this true?

Oh yes, its very true. If your plant is 2ft during veg it will most likely be close to 5ft when finished. They really stretch alot during flowering. Also, if you want that one to be more bushy then you need to practice pruning it. If you FIM it it will make it some what bushy, but fim'ing is to make more main top growths. The best way to promote bushy growth is to prune and train it. I have some plants that are about 2ft tall and just as wide because if training. Some of the ones i FIM'ed have 5 tops but arent HALF as wide as tall. FIMing is for more main colas up top, a side effect is somewhat bushy growth due to the plant growing while the top of the plant is healing which stops it from growing upwards. That is until it heals, then it will be up to 8 main tops growing just as tall as the one would have been. Other than that those are some great plants. Not just great for a few cfl's those plants look as good as some ive seen under low watt hps like 250w and even 400w. Great job dude!!

Yes it is true if the pot size is big enough. Indoors, pot size is the biggest limiting factor as to how tall the plants can get. If your plants are in 2 gallon pots for example and they are 2 feet tall before going to flower, chances are they are almost rootboung if not rootbound already and will therefore not get that much taller. The plants you have in those pots look like they still have room to grow especially if those are 5 gallon pots.

Day 35

I realized I hadn't watered the plants for a good 3 or 4 days, so last night right before the lights turned off I gave them a good watering with full strength MG Tomato Food and by this morning they had all grown into the CFLs. A few crispy leaves on new growth at the top of the plant but they'll be fine. Two of them now have little white hairs which is amazing because I think that means they are female!!! So 2 confirmed females and the middle, smaller one is unconfirmed. Also a few of the leaves attached to the main stem at the bottom of the plant are turning yellow and I have just been pulling them off as they turn. I know this can be a sign that the plant needs more nitrogen but I have been giving them MG Tomato Food which is 18-18-21. A lot of the yellow leaves are on the back of the plant which isn't getting much light so I am guessing this is why they are yellowing. I can't wait for the buds to start growing

Looks great, I see no deficiencies or fert burning. Just keep doing what you are doing. As for the light, if the backs of the plants are not getting enough light, you should go in there a couple of time per day and rotate the pots so that all sides get even light.

I am using CFLs in cheap dome reflectors I got at Walmart. The numbers are the NPK ratio. (http://gardening.about.com/od/garden...lizerlabel.htm) I am LSTing all 3 of my plants and it works good. Each one has multiple verticle growths which will become colas.

I will be taking pictures later today but I was scrutinizing the middle plant and it has really little white feather-like hairs so I guess all 3 are female Considering they are random bagseed I must have really good luck.

Day 38

Plants are going good. Pruned a few more yellow leaves from the bottom of the plants. One thing I didn't do that I should have is rotating the plants. I have dome reflectors on top of the plants and on the sides on one side but the back of the plants didn't get any light so the back of the plants are pretty bare. Watered them yesterday with MG Tomato Food. Its been a few days over a week of flowering and so far they only have a few little white hairs. How long until buds start forming? As soon as I get some $ I need to get some 2700K CFLs and blooming ferts. Has anyone here ever flowered using 6500K CFLs?
