First grow, from germ to harvest

thanks. thats really helpful. my soil is something like .05-.1-.12 or something like that. it basically feterilizerless. im not planning on using ferts until atleast the 3rd or 4th week of veg.

looking good man, they'll grow trust me. just give them time. Im the same way on my first grow, I want to see a foot of growth every time I look in on them lol. They're looking nice man gathering energy right now I suspect.

What are ur temp and ph levels? forgive me if uve said already

temp is currently 75-80F. no idea about ph level, i need to invest in a digital reader but i have like 20 dollars thats going towards a dub tonight. where can i find a ph meter and how much will it cost? i have no idea where to get one

get the cheap tester strips if your that hard up for money....

and there are easy ways to raise and lower ph

I got one of these 2 years ago and still haven't changed the battery...search on ebay for hanna checker pH as the are about as cheap as it gets.

thanks for the info. i think im gonna use some pool testing stuff my friend has to test the run off. they have a range of 6 to 7.5, which means that as long as its on the 6 end of things im good.

just checked on the plants after i got home from work. they're lookin pretty good. i put a computer fans near them to start gettin them strong.

one of the other cups i have with seeds in it, is starting to root. i know this because, being the smart seed it is, it rooted the wrong way, and about 1/1 inch of tap root was sticking above the soil. i quickly fixed the problem and I'm really hoping it doesn't die. the other 2 party cups showed no sign of sprouts but I'm hoping at least 1 more shows up. with 3 confirmed plants, i'm feelin kind of iffy about males/females.







On Monday, I'm headin over to my friends house to build a proper grow area for these gals. we're plannin on something 2Hx2Wx4L lined with the spaceblankets seen in the photos. currently it's just kind of an open ended enclosure with the blankets wrapped around the lights and under the cups.

I wouldn't use aluminum foil for your grow, it's not smooth so it easily creates 'hot spots' with the light from it relfecting.

yeah dont use foil I believe straight white is better than foil. foil will wrinkle and concentrate the reflection of the light causing hot spots like dude said. Get mylar if u can it is the best obviously.

Get a cheap ph tester and keep runoff at 6.5

just got a cheap testing kit for about 5 bucks, planin on usin it first time i water. i can also get s soil tester probe for 5 bucks and im wonderin if thats worthwhile. its just a metal rod that you stick in the soil and it has a little reader on top

as for foil, that stuff is actually mylar, its just set up very haphazardly. i'm makin a grow box tomorrow and will post some pics of it with proper mylar lining.

i just checked in on the plants. they're startin to get bigger leaves. one more sprouted up. the leaves on NL #1 and Haze #1 are starting to curl a little bit as seen in this picture.



i'm kinda worried about them. any advice?

just doin the daily update. plants are looking pretty good. i cut and painted the veg box today. it's lookin pretty cool. it's a 2ft tall, 2 ft deep and ~4ft wide open topped box and it's gonna have 6 flouro bulbs in it with adjustable heights. settin it up in the grow room tomorrow morning and i'll take some more pictures then

just updating for today. they are 1 week old and starting to develop their second leafsets. the 3 finger leafs are lookin good on Haze #1 and #2. the NL #1 is looking kinda sad though. the first set of leafs is getting shriviled up even more, and the 2nd leaf set is lowly emerging, slower than the other. it looks kinda looks like its overwatered, but it hasnt been watered since i originally soaked the party cup. it's dark green and kinda looks like the individual serrated sections of the leaf look llike its about to explode



i cant tell if these are bloated serrated sections or shriveling leafs. any help?

should i even worry about this? im kinda high and just inspecting them. and smoking some pressed fine shake from my 8th. its like a fucking nugget of hairs and trichs and maybe a few little pieces of leaf.

dont get a soil tester its garbage. when u do water check the ph

temps are in the low 70's. humidity....i honestly have no idea, im gonna guess and say its close to 50% humidity, it's 70 and 20% outside currently, and the grow area feels wetter.

heres some pics, today they are are 8 days old and lookin pretty good. i'm moving them into my grow box in the enxt few days, i'm still getting the light mounting figured out. but for now, they're still in the mylar

havent updated in a while, my bad. i got ahold of some dank couchlock weed and have just been buzzin around doin stuff.

so as for the update, the plants are under 6 40 watt daylight flouros, and will be for a while. i finally set up the new vegging box. It's a 2x4x2 box that has the lights mounted on top with adjustable han hanger things. the plants are currently about 2 inches tall with the second leafsets coming in. one might die, i literally dropped its cup and it exploded out of the pot. i imediately reburied the roots and gave it some water but the bottom of the stem was white and is now turning a dead brown color. i really hope it starts living again cuz my other NL plant aint lookin to hot either
