Lowryder Bubble Bucket (first hydro grow)

Hey Hey GC! Whats up

Well I got these LR seeds... decided to try a bubble bucket. Heres some info...

2x 1.3gallon tupperware containers
General Hydroponics 3-part liquid nutrients
ph 5.6-5.8


Only got room for two or three containers in my closet... I've only been able to get one seed going... about 4 of them died soon after sprouting or just never sprouted. I'm germing them in wet paper-towels, once they crack I'm putting them into a 1" rockwhool cube. I'm keeping that wet and in the dark. Once I transfer the germ'ed seed into the rockwhool, should I be putting that in light or keeping in dark?

So I have one that is 3 weeks old (from sprout)... I have a germ'ed seed thats been in a 1" cube for a couple days now in the dark, still no sprout..... and my last 2 LR seeds that just about started to crack. I'm hoping to get a male/female combo so I can get a bunch of seeds so I dont have to buy more.

Anyways here's some pictures of my one thats made it... its 3 weeks old from sprout. 1063ppm.. just a little over for week 2 strength on the GH chart. I wrapped the containers in layers of duct tape so no light would get through.

Week 4

My LR has doubled in size from last week. I switched to flowering nutes last night cause it's showing sex...and... drum roll please......... its a girl!! w00t.

You probably overwatered your seedlings which is why they didn't sprout. Rockwool holds a lot of water and you have to shake out the water instead of squeezing it so that the roots have pockets to move into. I have experience with rockwool making it hard for a plant to root because it held too much water, just didn't know what I was doing.

The plant looks good, keep it up!

Well what I was doing was keeping the germ'ed seed that was in the rockwhool in a dark place until it sprout... I got this information from a "How To Grow Hydro" movie on youtube. Then I was told that the germ'ed seed needs light to sprout.

So I germ'ed the last Lowryder seed I have and a couple Master Kush Fem seeds I got from a friend (got like 20 of them)... put them all in light after germ'ing and BAMMM! they all sprouted. I'm only gonna keep the one LR going and getting rid of the Master Kush sprouts.

It doesn't need light to sprout, it will stretch in no light. If they didn't sprout but the seeds cracked it was root death/inability to form. (too much water) I didn't put my seeds under light until they all spouted, and most of them stretched a lot but sprouted just fine.

Putting them under light to sprout after keeping the seeds in the dark to crack is the right method.

Glad to hear you got it figured out though, whatever works for you- definitely do that.

Honestly.... all the ones that didn't sprout might of been my fault cause of to much watering. I'll definitely remember not to water to much in the early stages on my next grow. I wasn't aware that there is such a thing as to much water in the early stages.

Week 5

This LR is really taking off!
Buds are really starting to come in. It's not growing like a typical Lowryder, if you search the net for pictures of a LR you'll see that the buds is pretty much just one big cola and a couple smaller buds. Compare that to mine... mine have a bunch of bud spots, which I'm pretty happy about! That means bigger yield!

Also there is a pic of a little sprout which is my last LR seed, cross my fingers it turns into a female. I spaced out the two so by the time the first one is harvested, dried and cured... the 2nd will be ready for harvest.

Sorry for no updates. My camera is broke and my cell phone doesn't take very good pictures.

I'll try to get some pictures up here just before harvest, which should be in the next week or two. Looking to get about 1/2 oz. off of her which I guess is not to shabby for a Lowryder plant.

Ya man, lookin real good. I actually just started LR yesterday but i started mine in vermiculite. It is supposed to hold water better and has more airy parts to it. Im also growin shrooms so thats why i had extra vermiculite. Check out my thread and see what you think about my operations. LR pics are comin soon. Good Luck bro
