thanks, i was really buggin out about that.

I'm gonna grow my cuttings into mother plants, but I wanna flower these plants to make sure that my cuttings are female and to throw out the male plants. And that way, I'll have some weed b4 Christmas, hopefully even before december.

And once I have the all-female mothers, I'll just take clones and flower those.

Makes sense in theory, hope it works out that way.

That widow might get taller before it flowers because it's a tall plant, not sure about the others. I hope they aren't too small for what you are looking for, veg is really important in terms of how you yeild. It sucks the only way to find out how long to veg is to guess and then adjust if it's too much or too little, but without a grower to tell you exactly how to grow a clone to get a certain amount, it's pretty much a shot in the dark until you get it right eventually growing from seed or with a clone you know nothing about.

I wanna wait till the branches get at least 4 inches long, then take the cuttings and put them under 24-0 Fluorescent. If they would survive, I definitely would clone them now.

Anyone know how big a branch has to be before its 'clonable'? Or does it need just enough leaves to respire, absorb water and photosynthesize?.. which would be like 2 decent-sized leaves...

My first grow was soil too. I grew a white widow cross and I ruined one of them. It turned the same colour...I expect both from the poisoning I gave it and the flush afterwards. Things is it turned out to be the best plant, so watch carefully.

As long as it's a shoot, and you can get the stem in contact with a moist medium or nutrient fog it will be fine. I've cloned ones with a stem so small the top actually touched the surface of the plug when I put it in there, but it did fine. The smaller ones have an easier time rooting then larger ones for some reason, but larger ones grow A LOT faster after they root.

Alright, I'll probably clone them at the end of next week then.

The yellow white widow is still pretty yellow, but I've noticed that the other plants in Ocean Forest also do the same thing when the lights first turn on, but after a couple hours in light, they turn back green. Ive actually noticed the White Widow turns pretty green towards the end of the 12hr day.

Doesnt seem to be slowing down any of their growth tho, I just hope it doesnt manifest into destroying my plants or anything later in flowering.

So, if the problem is that the soil is short on iron, will blood/bone meal help this or not?

I'm gonna start watering with Tiger Bloom next watering, hopefully that helps for now

Alright, I found two male plants yesterday, so I moved them out of the flowering room, covered them in plastic bags and put them away, haha. RIP Juicy Fruit and G-13, pictures attached:

Ok, havent updated in a little bit, but for anyone who still cares, heres whats going on:

YELLOW WHITE WIDOW:

Next to finding out I probly have 5 out of 7 females, the coolest thing that happened this week was the White Widow getting green again, I was so relieved! But then it's stem started turning more and more purple, hope I dont have another problem on my hands.

SEXING:

Juicy Fruit Plant in MG is female (95% sure, 5% is hoping it's not hermie)
Juicy Fruit Plant in Ocean Forest was male, I killed it.

'G-13' Plant in MG was male, I killed it too.
'G-13' Plant in Ocean Forest is female

Both Hindu Kush plants look like they're female (90% sure)

White Widow Plant also has shoots (white hairs) growing, but not enough to be 100% sure yet. This is all fine as I dont plan on cloning till the weekend.

So, as it is, I killed 2 male plants, and believe the other 5 are female. Which is cool, cuz I was hoping (praying) for at least one female per strain, and it looks like I got that, with an exra HK.

NUTRIENT BURN:

One of the plants (HK) in MG was really, really, badly nutrient burned (I thought it was heat stress and moved it out of the room). Then all of a sudden, the other two plants in MG started getting the same symptoms. Unlike my first grow... instead of fucking the plants up and watering them more, I just left them without water for a couple days. They looked noticeable better, but were still getting necrotic spots all over the place.

So, I flushed all of them in the bathtub with just plain tap water (to replenish water minerals I flush out), and trimmed the dying leaves. By the end of the day they were looking better, but now the HK is really coming to life. It now looks almost identical, in size and everything to the other Hindu Kush plant in Ocean Forest (I'll have pics of them tomorrow). I had to kill one of the other plants I flushed, but the third is still fine and she seems to be growing again.

PURPLE STEMS:

All 3 plants in Ocean Forest and the Juicy Fruit in MG are turning really purple. I wasnt gonna take pics today, but i luckily snapped a couple just before lights out cus the purple is getting noticeable worse. I attached a couple pictures below...

Is this just something else I should wait out or is there something wrong with the nutrients in the soil? Plz post suggestions, I hope to fix this before flowering goes into full effect.

Ive been reading online, and i think im just gonna wait to see what happens.

Looks like i might have to get some blood meal tho and im thinkin bout getting some Grow Big too.

The purple stems really havent gotten any worse, just hope it doesnt spread to the leaves, cus then i really got some problems

what's the temp in there at night?? Purple stem's easily indicate's cold night temps or phosphorus deficiency. Also the whole how your widow is yellow coming out of the dark cycle and then green by the end of the light cycle makes me think that it is cold temperatures. I saw a thread on here where a guy had all yellowing bud sites and all yellowing new growth and he told about how it had cold night's and then the day would come and his growth would be green then yellow then green then yellow hahaha wtf weird shit ill try to find it so you can check it out.

Yeah, I just read somewhere that cold night temps can cause purple stems. Should be a easy fix though... I've been leaving my windows open so it wouldnt get too hot when the light turns on @ midnight, so I'll just leave my windows closed, should help increase night temps a lot.

Some strains get purple stems naturally- if the plants look healthy and are growing well, I wouldn't worry about it at all. It might just be a little too chilly in there from time to time, no big deal. You sound like you have it taken care of anyways.

It's when they don't look healthy that you should worry. Purple coloring can mean stress, but it's not like the plant isn't built to handle a little bit of it from time to time. Keep up the good work, you should be smoking your own dank in no time.

get yourself a ph meter, you can get a cheap one on ebay for about $30 with shipping

While I am sure it aint the best PH meter money can buy, if you keep it calibrated it's good enough for the money (def get yourself some calibration solution with it, the small pack it comes with is not enough and check it once a week, throw away used solution)
