Your soil is hurting those seedlings. They should not be discolored like that.

FFOcean forest soil is good for mature, well established plants. Some strains are sensitive and get over ferted very easily making seedlings in this soil a risky business.

thank you

Thats whats up I didnt know that about FFOF. well I also have the fox farm red bag . . .

think im going to wait longer in germination, like for the root tips to get a little longer before planting. any better ideas for a grow medium to raise seedlings in?? should I just get some rockwool or some jiffy pots?? Ill look more in the forums but let me know if u have any offf hand advice. thank you again

PS humidity is only at 20-28%. not good I know I put two cups of water by the plants to evaporate and hopefully help humidify the area.

PPS hope ur lovin the avatar flowergirl lmao

a turn for the better???

got the humidity up to around 45% and the temp down as low as 74 degrees!!!! now that's pimpin lol. nah but its good that I think at least I have some control over those factors which I know I need. The plants new growth is looking better too I have pics. . . .

Legs Diva And Perky Left to right. they keep on truckin.

Legs . . . Startin to show her 3 leaf set.

Diva . . . look at the difference in the new growth compared to the old growth underneath. Like you could miss it lol. looks like I was tryin to smoke that shit while it was still alive or something. oh PS found a moth chillin on Diva today (( when can I start peticides??????

another of diva

and heres Perky. she keeps on keepin on. slow and steady wins the race, eh Perk??

Now, If you notice, there's no more PC in the room. . . .

I took someone on the forums advice and took out the PSU and bypassed its need to be attatched to a MOBO (which initially I knew had to be possible I just didnt know how.) Its REALLY easy to do and kind of opens up some possibilities for some growers who want some cheap "fan action". Like me lol. CUz u can get some pretty powerful fans that attatch to PSUs I think. if u need to know how just PM me or search it its easy. here are some pics. in the first one u can also see the two cups I have half filled with water to evaporate and help with humidity . . . .

as u can see all u do is jump the main cable that goes to the MOBO with some wire. I used speaker wire. seems to be a well known trick but I didnt know it. And now I do. Blammo!!!

and heres a pic of the fan behind the plants blowing air out. pretty cool i been sticking my hand back there and feeling warm air blowin out and when i feel the air blowing in over the plants its cool air so must be working. if I can do this trust me ANYONE can do it. just look at how ghetto i set it up lol.

Iwas gonna post some pics of the temp/humidity readouts cuz It saves the minimum and maximum but who really wants to see pics of that. max humidity has been 47%. I hear 50% is optimal. min temp has been 74 degrees. which I THINK is in optimal range. MAx temp has been 88.7 since it started its memory. and min humidity has been 20% which was before I put the glasses of water up. thats shit works apparently. alright yall time to skirt. hit me with some comments let me know u agree with me that my seedlings can make it if I pull my head out of my ass, yeah?? someone?? anyone???

no i didnt forget here is some LA Confidential from the SF Valley bitches

Ah the good old SF Valley. Bought some very good weed out there a couple of times. Jiffy pots; don't use them. I have heard bad reports with them plus they retain too much water. If you grow rockwool know the pH should be from 5.2-5.8 in that where soil is best at 6.2-6.8.

Next time these are dry, give them another flush to make sure excess nutes are away and hopefully they should make it.

so . . .

just keep planting the germinated seeds into soil then??? I think it should work now that I know to water the soil first then put the seeds in with the saran wrap out of the light untill they break the soil.

This may sound stupid, and I get the basic idea, but what exactly do u mean by flush them??? Ive always wanted to ask this. Just water them untill it pours out the bottom??? cuz thats what I do when I water them every two days anyway. could this be the probem??? I know it sounds stupid but maybe if someone could tell me the specific way they water their seedlings and explain it to me like a 4 year old.

what Ive been doing is gently pouring purified water evenly around the surface of the soil and at first it sits on top then begins to saturate, then I pour it in little amounts evenly around untill it starts to drip out the bottom. Is this not right? am i a fool for asking?? I really dont care could someone just let me know?? thanks for all the advice I think they're gonna make it.

PS guess Im also still not really sure how there could be excess nutes since I havent nuted them. I know u said the FFOF soil but could u elaborate?? is it that if I overwater the nutrient rich FFOF it releases nutrients and messes with the seedlings????? thanks again for ur tips. oh and y is there a red envelope next to my thread any ideas??

LOL, no you are not a fool for asking!

Are you keeping the germ. area warm enough? Forgive me if you already said that.

Yes, slowly water the soil until it saturates enough for some to drain out of the bottom of the pot. Up to 10% of the original amount that you poured in should drain out of the bottom, according to J. Cervantes et al. For example, if you have a 6" pot, you should be watering at about 250 mL, so up to 25 mL should be coming draining to the bottom. I use a measuring cup when watering, that way I know exactly how much water the plant is going to get. Getting the soil wet when transplanting makes things easier to work with too.

P.s. just clip off those nasty brown leaves, they are not doing you any good lol.

2nd round

is brewing. I have two seeds (1 sadhu 1 from a bag of kush from the store) that germinated overnight and are now 1/4 inch deep in pre watered soil and wrapped in saran wrap in the process of sprouting. and I put one seed I got from a bag of shake from the store into a glass of water that is covered so it can get no light. I just wanted to see how well this method worked. It has not germinated yet.

The plants are cool Ill post pics tomorrow. not much growth.

I was reading into nute deficiencies and I think I had/have an N deficiency. Any ideas? just from the fact that the tips of the leaves and the bottom leaves are being affected it seemed to point in that direction in the chart I was reading. I flushed Diva and Legs with almost three times the volume of the pots they are in, i.e. I poured almost three dixie cups full of pure water through them and let it drain. is that flushing??? lol I have no idea

temp and humidity look cool. ill keep updating. Oh and I was gonna clip the leaves but I want to wait a little bit for fear of damaging the plant. Or should I clip them to concentrate the plants energy on the new growth??? lemme know

well . . .

they sprouted today!!! they look like better srouts than my earlier "non saran wrap" ones. so im excited about that. got one bagkush and one sadhu. can anyone fill me in on the sadhu strain???? neway ill post some pics tomorrow hope y'all are all stoned like me right now. way too stoned to get out the camera and take a pic of this ATF Im blown off. peace in the middle east

PS look what I found on a diff forum, think this might be me???

Molybdenum (Mo)

Molybdenum has proteins that help the plant take nitrogen from the air.

A Molybdenum deficiency causes leaves to have a pale, fringed and scorched look, along with weird or retarded leaf growth. Yellowing of middle leaves can occur as well as twisted younger leaves which will eventually die. Molybdenum deficiencies frequently resemble a nitrogen deficiency. A Molybdenum deficiency shows older chlorotic leaves with rolled margins and stunted growth. Looks like a nitrogen deficiency but with the red tips moving inwards to the middle of the leaves. Molybendum deficiency will usually show up in the older to middle aged leaves, then it moves to the young leaves. Generally a molybdenum deficiency occurs when sulfur and phosphorus are deficient.

Molybdenum toxicity doesn’t cause to many problems, but may cause problems when the human ingests it. Excessive molybdenum in cannabis will look like iron or copper deficiency. Parts affected are by the molybdenum deficiency are: Older leaves.

Hey man your plant has none of those deficiencies; it is too young unless the pH is off. Your problem is from the fox farm soil. That soil has tons of fertilizer in it in the form of worm castings, guano, etc. This is causing an over fert problem for your plants despite you never feeding them.

A flush is when you give the plants 2x-3x as much water as the pot size. If you have a one gallon pot, give it 3 gallons of fresh pH balanced water to flush out those excess nutes.

new pics

alright, well yo, am I way off when I say that from my understanding when u over nute the plant it locks down and stops taking nutrients, which in turn causes deficincies? Is that right??? If so then I think we may be both right, that In the beginning I was overwatering the seedlings (every day) which overnuted the plants which locked them out causing Nitrogen deficiencies???? anyway I flushed them and hopefully their new growth continues to be healthy and green.

So I went in and got a nice deal on a new light setup. I got a T5 setup, 4 bulbs 2 feet long. And I grabbed this used dresser hutch thing for free and Im using it as sort of a grow box. Basically so I can close it if I need to. SO I got the light fixture, 4 veg bulbs, a ph meter and 2 "yo yo" sunlift light hangers, all brand new for $100!!!! nice huh?? we're talking about $200 value here. nice. so I changed up the whole setup and hopefully after a few tweaks well rock this thing. at least for veg untill I can figure out how to work an HID in my space. alright heres the pics. plants still look shady but the new ones look nice . . . . .

sort of
