Here We Grow Again- Mazar, Blueberry, and Purple Kush

Hey Mr. Goodstuff you have a great grow going and it is evident that you have the knowledge to answer a question I have. Like you I am growing mazar from dutch passion, but I am afraid it isn't growing as quickly as it should. I planted the seed 10 days ago and it is about two inches tall with one set of leaves. For the first seven days it was under a 100 watt CFL and now for three days it has been under a 175 watt MH. From your experience with mazar should it be taller or does a height of about two inches with one set of leaves sound about right?

It was my first time with germination and I put the T-5 light too close to them and it was also cold in the room, so I didn't exactly have perfect conditions.

Mine germinated in 2 days and took a month to root enough to be transplanted. If you look at the grow in my signature, the first sets of pictures are of rooted seedlings, which are about 4 1/2 weeks old. Both Mazar and Blueberry took awhile to form roots from seed in my experience. Only one Blueberry seed survived and became the largest plant in the garden by some miracle. I think your plants are fine, if they aren't sickly looking they are fine.

Mazar stretches a lot too, and doubles if not triples in size before flowering when placed in 12/12. I love the strain, it is amazing pot! You will be very happy with it for sure.

It is very hardy and strong and has pretty even phenotypes. Some plants are frostier and taste better than others but not by much. It regenerated easily and I get 100% clone survival rates with it. It is the best smelling weed I have ever smelled too, it changes smells you are going to be so happy with it! The high is a soft high, very peaceful and relaxing from the buds. Hash and kif is more overpowering and gives you that pressure behind your eyes I used to get when I first started smoking or some nights when I smoke some special weed. Very special stuff, that's for sure- I wasn't expecting it to be this good!

Hey Mr. Goodstuff after looking at those pictures you directed me to I definitely think something is wrong with my mazar, but I am going to continue treating her well and maybe she'll improve in the next couple weeks. thanks for your input

Do you have a thread on your grow? If not, at least some pictures? If the plant doesn't look sick there is nothing wrong with it growing slowly in the beginning. It could be the fact it hasn't rooted very well yet.

There are many factors that can cause slow growth, but I would need a better idea of what is going on. Mazar isn't the fastest growing strain in the beginning though, I will tell you that. It gets a lot bigger when placed into 12/12 really fast, but the beginning was pretty slow for me.


Over the weekend I got a couple more fans for the flowering tent to help wind-train the plants. I was sick of having to move the fan around and it just wasn't doing the biz. Now there are a total of 3 fans for wind-training and 2 for the hot spot underneath the hoods. The plants are extremely sturdy this time around from the fans and it looks like I won't have to spend a Saturday night stringing up buds again. I was going to get another fan to make 4 for wind-training but I decided against it. I still want to get one but I'm not sure if it will be worth the extra power... We'll see I'm undecided right now.

I also got a bunch of air pumps and some special ceramic airstones that take a 3/8'' airline but have an adapter for the standard tubing. I got two of them, one for each reservoir. But now I see you need a bigger air pump to really get the worth out of them, they act like a normal airstone with this sissy ass pump I got on them... The 97 cent ones I got from walmart do the same thing need a bigger air pump, but oh well. Spent $80 on these airstones so it's kind of a big deal LOL but it's not the most money I've thrown out the window on this project! The nutrient program that wasn't all it was cracked up to be was a bigger waste of money! Can't take them back because I scratched them up changing the airline adapter with a pair of pliers too. So annoying.

After looking around I found a special adapter that will allow me to use these two airstones on a serious air pump! Not exactly easy to find, but I'm happy I found it!

The plants are doing very well right now, coming up on 2 weeks of flowering. Can't wait to see them in a month when they don't have burns all over them and aren't falling over from weak stems! The larger stems will make bigger buds too!

Sounds great man.No way did you throw the money out the window!!When you get a chance get a commercial air pump.it would be worth it since you have two ress's to aerate.

I think I have the airstone problem figured out now, I found an adapter that I needed. In the future I'll be using twice if not three times the water in what I call the river system. It will use a 50 gallon res and 12 5 gallon buckets, and I'm predicting about 60-70 gallons of water total in the system.

I'm getting two special air pumps, one 35 watt commercial and another dual diaphram one that has 4 1/4'' outlets that can change into 12-16 standard size tubes. The commercial has 3.9 PSI and the dual diaphram 3.0 PSI. Found them in a catalog my hydro store gave me. I can't wait to keep adding on. I'm addicted!

These airstones are something serious though, the pump I'm getting equals 7 of the Walmart dual port airpumps and you can put just one of them on it! I could only imagine the sheer amount of bubbleage from one 2X ceramic micropore airstone! I'll split it into two no matter what, but I can't wait to hook a single one up to the beastie and see what it does LOL

I'll take some pictures tonight and update tomorrow, lots of changes in there lately with the airstones and new fans, plus the plants look totally different than the last pictures I posted. They are really kicking off flower now.

Welcome back! Today we have pictures of the new updated flower room with three windtraining fans, the plants, and the airstone system.

I cut a bunch of leaves off the Blueberry that were blocking budsites and matting down the hairs. I still need to prune the Mazar for the same reason. There is this one bud that all the hair got torn out of because of a big fan leaf knocking into it. lol But the Blueberry plants are looking better as a rich green color is beginning to come back into the tops of the plant. (it was a little pale yellowish) I'm sure it was from something that was corrected (most likely the oxygen in the root zone!) and a massive increase in water intake has also been noted since the addition of the airstones. They are really starting to take off!

Dual ceramic airstone, two of these are in my flowering reservoir on a dual port air pump and I have another 4 airstones on another airpump inside the reservoir for a total of 8 air stones, 4 ceramic 4 walmart. Should be enough until I get a commercial airpump and a couple adapters.



These things are pretty serious, they can take a 3/8" airline!



I have another dual port with 3 airstones inside the veg reservoir for miss Shug that is now starting to shoot out growth from all over. The bud off of her was something serious! I also got something to raise the buckets up an inch so more water drains out and less roots sit in water, some wood from home depot cut into 10X10" squares.

Now we should be seeing some serious growth!!!


We have a home inspection coming up today, within the next 4 hours. Lets hear it for flying under the radar everyone!

Thanks brokencage, they are pretty roomy, can't wait to have a room I can move around the outside of the thing and actually utilize the all-around zippers. The whole thing is going to be custom with fan pvc support bars so I can clip fans all around for a SCROG. I am reaching the limit of the room's breaker though, I'll need two breakers when I move out. Can't really add anything more until I figure out a way to bring an extension cord over from another room. I'll figure it out though, we need a little bit more power!

The Blueberry is very mellow, like a very smooth flavor. It is not so intense like the Mazar in flavor. It is sweet and tastes kinda like blueberries. The high is very similar to the Mazar, very relaxing and peaceful. I love the high on both strains. Very nice. The flavor comes out more in the Blueberry when you vaporize it and that's my favorite way to get high with it. Gotta get a volcano Very good taste with Blueberry, just not as intense as the Mazar.

The buds should be bigger this time, yes! No heat stress, thicker stems, more light, better reflector, no phosphorous lock-out, no root rot, no not feeding them long enough, no bullshit down below slowing them down, no lack of side lighting or blue spectrum, no 5 foot tall plants with only a third in the premium light intensity zone having to transport nutrients twice as far as they should have to indoors- we should definitely be seeing bigger, more uniform, and not burnt, buds this time around. We should have mostly fire instead of half fire half crap.

Ya I have a giant carbon filter thing inside my tent that does a good job of elliminating the smell. I also have a small air filter that uses ozone and negative ions to filter the air along with hepa and carbon. I still need to put a odor absorbing gel thing inside my duct just to be safe though. I would like to get a ozone generator though and see how that works, maybe have it inside the exhaust duct.

Pretty crazy how the property managers totally overlook it hehehe

Thanks for the compliment skatestreet, the tents are awesome. The 4X4 needs some sort of roll-out table though because it only opens from the front. But I'm workin on it.

I also started counting days a little early than most do. They are about at 9-10 days flowering from where brokencage starts counting.
