the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step... *pics included*

*warning, 56k non friendly*

i read that in a fortune cookie. has nothing to do with the thread, but the cookie was delicious. anyways, i am going to make my first attempt at a grow journal. got some bag seed to germinate via paper towel method and have now sprouted. i've got pictures, but they aren't uploaded yet (mostly due to stoner error). this grow will be a cfl grow because

1) i want to start small and gain experience instead of jumping in over my head with a $300 light set up and no knowledge of how to use it.

2) not enough room to bring in the big lights

3) $

when i get the camera, i'll have pics up of the little munchkins.

good luck. clfs do work fine, especially with your problems/concerns (just like mine).

Good luck man, indoor plants are made to be small- so a small grow can be extremely efficient. (learned that the hard way LOL my plants are way too tall for indoors) My brother had amazing success in a cabinet using only CFLs.

What was the bud like that the seeds came from?

the bud was pretty decent. did it's job, even though it had been mishandled. here's progress so far. i think they're a week or so old (give or take a day). plus i started building a cabinet.

ghetto-ass temp. set up

box construction

started putting in some mylar and added sides to it. gonna make doors and vents for it today (hopefully)

nice cab!

Nice cabinet! What are the dimensions? My grow is 18" x 22", and only a couple of weeks ahead of yours, so I will be following this one. Good luck!

i believe it stands a little over 5' ?" tall, 2' 6" wide, and 1' 6" deep. not the biggest, but surprisingly i'm not someone who's trying to pull out 40 pounds of mega super kush supreme-o nugzilla, so it's plenty big enough for me.

and as much as i would like to say that is aluminum foil help on by a rubberized adhesive spray, it's one of those safety blankets/mylar sheets full of wrinkles.

here's some updates of some heat stressed plants. they're close ups of the far back row right pot (viewed in previous picture), the pot to the lower right of the previous one, and the only plant that's not in a pot (seems to be doing the best too. determination...i like that.)

farthest plant

plant next to it. this one had major heat stress in the leaves. i ended up just clipping the bad parts (it looked like the plant was trying to 'raise the roof') they all ended up with stress because my fan didn't turn on due to timer failure. anyways....less talky, more piccy.

GO! cup plant

they were put into germination on the 5th of this month. thoughts so far?

thanks. i'm surprised the pictures turned out as good as they did. i'm stoned and have 1 contact lens in, so focus is not something i'm proficient in right now. i wish i knew what strain of plant they are. my last attempt at growing left me with 2 males (germinated only 2 seeds out of boredom a while back)
