But I'll be watching the grow closely to learn, cuz I read through your last one, and you had a bunch of problems with the sulfer i think you said(but it still turned out awesome! still droolin over the buds), so hopefully this goes alot smoother... Well it's been a few days now since the new "girls" have been on the 12/12 cycle. I did major fimming and have been LST'ing both of them. I'm planning on cutting some clones tomorrow and we'll see how that journey goes again...did work so well the first time around. Im' hoping to make 2 motherplants for the winter run. I'm also redoing my lights...although I spent about an hour rigging something up, only to see that the bulbs are too far spaced...so I'm going back to the drawing board for some more Ideas. I'll get and idea together tomorrow. I'm shifting to 8 CFLs instead of the 16 Tubes. There was just way too much wasted light with the Tubes and with the CFLs, I'll be able to get better ventilation and less heat. 12 4' bulbs produce alot of heat....well not them, but their "ballasts" do. Anyhow, still around, I'll try and post some pics later this weekend. Oh yeah, and they are transplanted into 3 gallon pots. 1/3 Farfard mix (vermicilite/perilite/bark/soil) 1/3 EWC 1/3 Perilite 4 TSP of lime Been using Miracle Grow all purpose ferts. 3 level "small" side of scooper right now. Going to do one more at 3/4 strength then I'm switching to Fertilome Bloom Ferts. I'll be back. I also wanted to say thanks to Mr. Postman, skatestreet and mushuhappiness for stopping in...I'm thinking this thread will one day be like Mr. Postman's. I'm reading up and doing research on making my own Teas...and have all the ingredients for the Veg one and will use it on my next grow in the fall, but don't have guano or another like that to make a good bloom tea. Again...stick around...this one will be good.

| Old School Stoner | dude, is that plant still in that dixie cup?... thats a root rot waiting to happen,,, dont ever use a dixie cup!,,, get a 4'' pot, i usually start with 4'' pots,,,, then move up to a 8'' pot,,,, and 3 wks. before flowering put them in thier final pot,,, not much root development takes place during flowering,,,your temp's,,,,,,,, are a real issue,,,, look into a squirrel cage type inlie fan,,,, maybe a 95 c.f.m.,,,,,,,, would do good for your small area,,,, and definatly go with the lst,,, your height is a issue,,, you need to keep that plant as compact as you can get it,, bend it till you allmost break it,,,, my roosters crowing,,,, i guess the suns coming up,,,, good luck,,, i'll keep your grow in my user c.p.,,,,,,,,,, maybe slip in every now and then... |
| Old School Stoner |
its nice to experiment and make your own '' concoctions,,,, just get you some fox-farm,,, grow and bloom formulas,,, they are 100% guano blends,,, you'll need nothing else, exept maybe a bloom booster,,, for week 5 of flowering,,,,

Also, the height isn't an issue really, I have a 6 foot tall cabinet, but the temps are around 85 or so now when the doors are closed...so it's a little hotter than I'd like, but I have over 800 watts of CFLS going now. Rebuilt my whole lighting structure...NO MORE TUBES....they just don't have the power...maybe T-5s, but T-20s are just not enough. I'm looking forward to this one now. I'm planning on adding another 4 bulbs if needed during later stages of flowering LST is going well, but I really wish I had about another 2 weeks of VEG before I had to flower, to really get the whole stalk around the pot. I'm looking forward to the next grow when I can veg for as long as I want. Smoke report on recent harvest is basically, holy shit!

Thanks for the compliments! I'm using a Fafard type B soil 1 part; 1 part EWC; 1 part perilite. 3 gallon garbage can I used a pot just a wee bigger last time and when I was done flowering and pulled the roots, there was still room for them to grow, so I should be ok. Also, another update...Plant #2 has been sacrificed to the Male Pot Plant God. Since I had just prepped the soil...I just pulled slowly up on the stalk and he pulled out of the ground pretty easily. Should I put saran wrap or something over the pot and save it? or what should I do with it?

If thats what your wanting to do, then yeah pull out the old plant roots, and put the soil back into a plastic bag, or as you mentioned placing some plastic wrap over the top to keep pests/bugs out, and keep it from totally drying out. if your poured nutes on it just give a flush, and I would maybe mix half and half, new soil to old to cut down on nutrient concentration. but if it's a fresh mix then yeah pull the roots out and save the soil... Chicken wire laid over a tub would help separate out root material if you cannot get it all by pulling up the roots. if I continue running my journal on this forum mystic I'm going to start getting into reuse of the organic mixes which should be quite interesting... Gonna make an organic mix with a coco coir base (coco does not break down as quick as peat). Coco, composts, ewc, perilite.. I'm going to ammend the soil nicely to begin with, and then start working on whats needed to be added back to the soil upon remixing.. i'm thinking with a 100% organic growing the reuse of the soil mixes shouldn't be as taboo... With organics the break down is slower, and plants have the ability to take whats needed at a much more gradual rate. Anyway should be most interesting for us smaller, closet cultivators in places where buying soil in dead of winter may look a bit off, or dumping soil into the yard from within the house a bit off as well LOL... Well, what can I say...I've been out of touch...but I succeeded in my goal. I harvest some danky ass danky nugs on the 21st of Sept...a few weeks early, but I started flushing early and also changed the light cycle from 12/12 to 10/14 for the last 4 weeks. The buds are very dense compared to lsat time. If you remember, last time I used Tubes, this time I used CFLs. much better result, but I'm still going to get a 250 HPS for this grow. I harvested just over 3 ounces off of that last plant and it's much smoother and better looking smoke all around. It's amazing when you are patient with your ferts, how well you can do. I currently have 6 "girls" going and I bonsai'd the old plant. What I did with the old plant was I cut all but 1 branch off the plant. I then sealed the cuts with "tar sealer" that you use when you cut branches off trees. You can start to see the plant starting to "suck in" the old buds that were on the branch. I took the plant from a 3 gallon to a 5 inch pot, so it's been going through an adjustment period, but it's alive and doing well, so now it's just a matter of a few weeks before I can started cutting clones. The new plants I have going are 2 blue mystics and 4 bag seeds. 2 of the bag seeds look to be an indica...almost round leaves...crazy looking and then one is a pure sative it appears because it's only on it's 3rd set of leaves and already has a 7 leaf branch started. In any case...I'll try and be better about updates on this next grow...I've just been busy. I'll try and post some bud shots later and also some shot of the new revegged bonsai. | Updates Finally bought my new seeds... <HR style="COLOR: #d1d1e1" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Here's what I got!!! Flying Dutchmen Mixed Sativa Sample Pack 4 seeds of Thai-Tanic 4 seeds of Swazi Sa ![]() 4 seeds of Fumar Con Dios Afropips - Durban Poison 10 seeds Nirvana Indoor Mix These popular selections are, Master Kush, Afghan, Pure Power Plant and Skunk #1, and Nirvana Special! Nirvana White Widow - My freebie pack I'm looking forward to spring time. I'm posting some pictures of the following plants...2 Blue Mystics 1 indica dominant bagseed and 1 sativa dominant bagseed. I have 1 Durban Poison almost ready for soil and 1 White Widow right behind it...still in paper towels. I built this little bubble cloner too to help me out. Saw a bunch of stuff that was way to big for my liking...so I went with this. I've already rooted 1 clone with it, but pulled it too soon and it died when I put it in the dirt...SO, I'll let these root for a while. BUBBLE CLONER INSTRUCTIONS: It was super simple. I bought the following: 1 small aquarium pump 1 package of aquarium tubing 3 packages of 2pcs. T-tubing joints 4 small air stones 1 small ass tupperware 1 filter thing that makes is so the water doesn't go into the pump What i used: Drill Bit Paper Clips The drill hole was little, i don't recall the actual size, but it was maybe 1/4 at the most I think... The paper clips have to be bent and opened so they are lightly squeezing the stalks. I wanted to use the plastic coated ones, but didn't have any. The small the better. The paperclip just keeps the clone from fallign through the holes. I've so far only rooted 1 clone out of 1 clone tried in this, but planted it too soon and it died... I'm going to let these root for at least 2 weeks and then tranplant...because if these don't live, I'll really be hurtin'. Anyhow, enjoy!!! SOIL STATISTICS 1 Part Farfard 3B soil Mix 1 Part Perilite 1 Part EWC 1 Part Mushroom Compost 1 Part Cow Compost Typical Lime additions I have egg shells I'm drying and will be adding those soon. Going to experiment with teas this time, so stick around. HOPES AND DREAMS: I'm hoping to find a good male and good female of each type of seed that I have, so I can do some breeding...I'm going to be doing a White Widow / Durban Poison Cross soon...so maybe next summer we'll be sharing some White Poison or Durban Widow...or some other kind of Crazy name I'll come up with.... I'm no pro, but I'm getting better everyday. I'm goign to try and post on the regular, so please don't hesitate to ask questions NOOBs...I'm only 3 grows ahead of you...but I've spent some time reading already...YOU HAVE TO! | A couple of problems. Hey mate. I see a problem with your bubble cloner. Just 2 things. First one. is that the bottom of it should not be able to let light in roots don't like light. Second. Once your baby's root how you going to get them out? Those holes are too tiny to allow the stem and roots back through once rooted. Thanks for listening. Good luck.

| Oh and another problem is you need a humidity dome to keep the moisture escaping the plants. so they don't wilt and collapse. That can be made as easy as a plastic bottle over them.
