Hey Balla

I had the same thing with one of my ice cream plants. It also had the prime spot under the light and I use a 1000w HPS. When I went into flower it went all retarded and never grew any real bud. But in the last 3 weeks of flowering it went nuts shooting up and making these sparse lanky buds. Tthe entire top half of the plant was covered and I mean COVERED with trichomes. I chopped they entire plant for making iceolator hash. It was a bummer that it took up all that space and never produced any bud save for a measly top cola that grew these too long horns. Was like devil horns or something... I did dry and cure that for smoking but I expect to get a 1/2oz of killer hash off it. I

I think it is because Ice cream is not a stabalized strain, so you can get genetic defects in some seeds

yeah scrogs are good, no doubt, but also sometimes a pain in the ass to deal with. because of my new grow table i'm using with 16 sites. i'm thinking of trying for my next grow just a sog rather than a scrog. a little less work to do. plus with a 3'x3' table its so hard to reach into the middle underneath the screen

also, by the time i start another grow, i'll be living in a new place, and hopefully have some more room to expand my grow area, in which case, i'm going to try a sog using Al b fuct's twist on the method, using rotating grow trays. using 4 rotating trays, with a strain that has a flower time of 8 weeks, you can get a harvest every other week.

i'm also planning on getting the Nutramist fogger and see how that performs. if it's as good as it claims, it should speed up the growth rate to be noticably faster than standard hydro methods

hey what up man, i didn't even realize that you're the one with the strawberry cough/co2 grow. i've been checking in on your grow hear and there. i've heard good things about the strawberry cough strain.

how often do you have to refill your co2 tanks? i guess if this is your first grow you can't really compare how fast the plant grows with co2 and without, but based on what you've seen in other peoples grows, does it seem like your plants are growing faster than the average one not using co2?

My next grow room modification is deffinately either co2 injection or the nutramist fogger, maybe both.

i only started to use the co2 at the start of flowering.... as soon as i started using the co2 the ladies shop up big but they all do the stretching thing...ill let u know on how long the flowering time is so we can figure out just how much it increases growth rate...i have talked to many people on this site who claimed that with the use of co2 their yield increased 20% using the same genetics

what up yall. the ICE CREAM plants are comming along nicely. They're about 2 weeks into flower +/- a couple days. I decided to completly chop down the blueberry clone. it was taking up too much room, too much light, and growing extra slow. now that i chopped it down, the ice cream plants farthest to the right hand side (the ones that were against the blueberry clone before i chopped it down) have some room to breathe. all the plants seem to be more happy now. Also with chopping down that bb clone, i was able to reposition the cfl light overhead (right next to the 400w hps) with the reflector on. the one ICE CREAM plant that i called "the retard" in an earlier post is already growing better. All the roots (on bottom of grow tray) are intertangled. to remove the bb clone i had to gestimate the general area of the roots of that plant and cut with a scissors. shouldn't be that big of a deal, i actually read somewhere that some people prune there roots never heard of that one before.

Damn.... i havn't updated this shit in a while...but its done now. Dried in 3 days, and just put it in the curing jars tonight. wish i would have gotten more , but this is good for now. next grow, i'm just going to do a SOG fuck the screen... i still like scrog's, but its such a pain in the ass to work around that shit. i'm also gonna be using co2 for my next grow, and probablly add another 400w or 600w light to go with the 400w i already have. anyways check this shit out. I haven't weighed this yet. i'm gonna wait until tue. or wed. it should be completely dry to the center of the bud. then i'm gonna weigh it.

i got that tinfoil pan thats full of trim, and little popcorn buds. some of the leave clippings in there have as much trichs as the bud. it should make for some good edibles. i think i'm gonna make some tincture a.k.a. alcohol with thc in it. and then use some tincture to make some pot suckers... cuz i bought a couple of them from a dispensary before my vacation, and ate one at the airport. i got fucking ripped. and that shit made my 4hr flight a lot better.

yeah no shit, especially with this strain. i had the screen this low on my last grow (first scrog) and it worked great, but this strain (ice cream) has a very strong unflexible main stem and if i ever use this particular strain in a scrog again, i will not only raise the screen but also use a screen with bigger holes in it.

by the way, the bud is all dry now and the dry weight is 102 grams. (just over 3 1/2 oz's) thought i would've got more but this will have to do for now. my next grow i will be using 2 instead of 1 400w mh/hps lights. i will also be adding co2 injection for my next grow. and i'll be doing a sog. keep a look out, my goal is to get 1lb from about 8 plants so i got my work cut out for me.
