Thumbs up Closet grow.13 plants under 600HPS.

What's up GC. I'm new to growing and I've been reading all the threads here on GC. My hope is to start this journal and get alot of feedback and suggestions on how to proceed with my plants. Here's a brief overview of what I got going-

13 plants that started off as clones. The strain is unknown. I got a single seed from a bag of bud that had some purple in it and was very potent. I grew that one seed and got these 13 clones from it. The parent plant was killed by my brother who thought it was a good idea to feed it a whole bag of blood meal all at once.

I'm growing them under a 600 watt HPS from Sun System. When I get the $$ I want to get a MH conversion bulb. I also want to add another 1000 watt HPS to the grow.

For soil I'm using patio plus organic soil. When it's time to transplant, I'll transplant into Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. I'm thinking of transplanting into 1 gal. pots. ??? Right now the babies are in 5" peat pots.

For air circulation I got a 20" box fan, a 6" oscillating fan, and a 55cfm fart fan hooked up to the HPS hood. It keeps it pretty cool in there. Again, when I get some $$ I wanna hook up a 300cfm inline fan along with a carbon filter. I'm going paycheck to paycheck so with each paycheck I'll get a little something untill I got everything I need.

For nutes I'm using MaxiGro 10-5-14 and SuperThrive. But I was thinking of getting some foxfarm nutes like their GrowBig 6-4-4. Unless theres something better that ya'll think I should get.

Well I guess thats pretty much everything. My closet is 4'X5'. I lined the walls with Mylar. My Ph has been at about 8.5. I still need to get some PH down when I can afford it. I'll try to upload some photos now. Any input will be apprecitated. I could use all the help I can get. THANX.

This rooting hormone sucks!!!The clones that I used just water rooted at the same time as the ones I used with this stuff.Next time I'll spen the xtra $$ and get either clonex or olivias rooting GEL.

These are the nutes I'm using for now till I can get some foxfarm nutes or whatever you guys suggest I use. I want buds like misterpostmans, dierwolf, augustwest, and all those guys like 'em.

Heres a pic of my ghetto rigged exhaust fan hooked up to the HPS. Its a 55cfm bathroom fan I got at Homedepot for 12$ It keeps the reflector cool enough to touch but I wanna get an inline 300cfm fan and hook a carbon filter up to it. Need more $$$$$.

This is a pic of a girl I just moved outside cause she's getting to big. I grew her just for practice. I used her to learn how to clone, FIM, top, LST, feed, prune, and force flower to determine sex. She's 2 months old from seed. Now I'll just let her live out her days on my patio. When ever I want to try something new I'll use her first and if all goes well I'll then do it to my prides of joy in the closet. When she buds I'll donate her flowers for medicinal use.

Everything looks alright Johnny.. You should have some nice plants going indoors in no time.

Whats the deal with the yellowing leaves on the clones though? I just want to make sure your on the right track with them... Did they yellow like that during cloning or did they turn yellow after being rooted for some time? Have u given them any fertilizer feedings yet since being rooted?

That outdoor plant looks awesome, and seems to be loving her outdoor home there... Looks like a nice big bushy sativa dom..

As far as fertilzer reccomendations... I personally use, and really like the Botanicare pure blend pro line of nutes... The basic line consists of pure blend grow/bloom, liquid karma, sweet, and cal/mag plus.

I personally purchase the grow/bloom, liquid karma. Then instead of their sweet and cal/mag products, I purchase mollasses, and succunat to add the natural sweetners, carbohydrates of the product sweet, and also a source of micronutrients the cal/mag would add. The mollases/sucunat is a fraction of the cost, and I find it to work just as good if not better then the sweet product at naturally sweetening the marijuana. It hasn't been needed yet as the mollasses/sucunat does add mag, but if more is ever needed I keep a small carton of epsom salt on hand.

Good luck with your grow Johnny... If u have any questions just hit me up in a PM

Alright dude, thanx. Yeah the yellowing occured during the cloning process. I guess they'll just need a couple days to turn green again. I did give them a weak nute solution while cloning but it didnt seem to keep them green. Also my PH is running 8.5 untill today when I can get some lime juice to lower the PH. I'll consider going with the same nutes as your using. Stuffs pretty expensive at 50$/gal. for each kind. But if it means getting the results that youv gotten, its well worth it I guess. Anyways, thanx for stopping by and giving me some tips. Much appreciated. Later dude!

That's good your getting the ph sorted out. That's important cause you could be feeding and the high ph is just locking out nutrients making them unobtainable to the plant. A way to test and control ph, and a cheap $30 tds meter were my two best investments.

The pure blend pro is a solid line, but there are many others you could use with good results as well.. That's just what I got my best results with, and found the easiest to use.. On the other hand I started out with what your using now maxigrow-maxibloom my first crop and took it harvest no problem... I just find the liquid ferts, and particularly pure blend pro since it has a organic foundation to be much more forgiving, and easier to use.. It seems to have a good ph buffering ability as well. The liquid karma, sweet, and cal/mag plus are all additives.. They are not 100% needed, but they work together, and help the main pure blend pro work more efficiently.. The main ones I wouldn't do without are the grow/bloom, and the liquid karma... All the others can be obtained cheper by other sources such as mollasses/sucunat/epsom salts, or may not even be needed at all.. For the very basic though pure blend pro grow, bloom, and a carton of epsom salts will get ya to harvest with good results.. Add mollasses to that, and some liquid karma if u have the $$ and you have a really solid regimen IMO.

If your going to try them though shop around as I found gallons as cheap as $35, and qt. for $15.. It's pretty concentrated. the average dosage for grow/bloom being 10-30ml per gallon of water... I rarely if ever go over 15ml per gallon as I'm using the additives which raise nutrient levels some, and I feed every watering.. It's also really tweakable to the style, and system of growing you could use... It can be tweaked to work in soil, hydro, or coco with good results..

Thanx for the info postman. Just got my paycheck and headed over to the hydro store. I LOVE THAT PLACE! Everybodies looking at each other all paranoid and shit. We all know why were there, but everybody just keeps to them selves, pays in cash, and quietly walks out the door. Kinda funny. Anyways, purchased some fox farm ocean forest, 13 8" 1 gal. square pots, a ph tester kit (the one I had only gave a rang of 6.5-8.0ph so this one gives a much wider range), and a bottle of lime juice to lower my ph. I didnt buy any nutes yet. For one, rent was do and didnt have much $$ to spend, mother's day is this week and gonna have to get something nice, and also I'm hoping by transplanting into the fox farm and lowering my ph to 6.8 my plants will be green once again without the aid of any ferts as of yet. From my understanding the foxfarm soil will feed for about two weeks. PERFECT!! Because in two weeks I'll get another paycheck and then can splurge on expensive nutes. Still debating over which to use. So many to choose from. Anyways, signing off to get back to work in the garden. Everything is still sitting in my car. Guess I'm gonna have to get off my ass and get to work. Later GC!!!
