Tiva's 1st Grow attempt (the shoebox grow) *pics inside*

this is my first attempt ever at the skilled art of growing ganja.
i still live with the rents who are not down with me smoking or possesing marijuana.
i rigged this up in hopes of starting a small plant in my closet then moving to an outdoor guerilla grow in the hills near my house.
I am using the vans shoebox my hemp vans came in so i am hoping for luck with that. i will post pics of them if you guys want.
i am using a 23 watt cfl and shiny tin foil to bounce the light back. for now i am only gemiong one seed using the tutorial posted in the new growers section.
it looks like an ordinary shoe box

but wait!

with light it really not that red just bad pic


here is the only light escape

any ideas on how to get rid of itwould be great.
here is the little seed i am hoping will be a lucky little girl. it is bagseed (heyits my first attempt)


so blades, what do you think?

What you have there is an easy-bake oven. Good effort though. Keep an eye on it, looks abit like a fire hazard.

you parents can get in a lot of trouble if you get caught growin marijuana in THEIR house so get them out as soon as you can. tin foil is nooooo good it will create hot spots on your plant and on a small plant that is not good. does it get hot in there? what kind of soil are you using?

they at most will make me destroy it. as far as soil i am probaly going to use some potting soil from longs or walgreens. nothing too hi tech.
should i take the tin foil out. if i do what should i put in it instead

i put a computer fan inside i will post pics later.

people dont seem to realize that this ghetto ass set up is for 2 weeks tops
just so that the seedling sprout and get strong enough to be transplanted outside.
that is it i am not flowering or even veging in it.

why dont you just germinate and then move it straight outdoors?

if you MUST use this set up then i would def get some mylar instead of that foil and you might be ok

A shoe box? At least use something plastic or something with a higher fire tolerance.

I'd just as start it outside since you're putting it outside anyway. Not to mention you said your parents arent cool with it.

...got to say for my 2 cents worth I've got to agree with everyone mate - you'd look a complete ass if you set fire to your room and then you're parents get in serious trouble.

Can you get a wood or metal box at least? It would be a real shame if your first experiment went up in flames!!

alright ill move it straight to outside. it it safe to let it germinate for a few days extra to finish the outsie setup?

Just place them into cups if they are germed. The longer you leave them out of the soil after germination, the easier it is to damage them while planting. For the first couple of days they wont require any light, so you should have time to finish your set up. Best of luck and be safe.
