Magical Mystery Grow / CFLs + Autopot

See: is it worth growing this weed i found in my backyard?

Day 1

This is some weed I found growing in my backyard. Any help identifying the variety is appreciated.

This will be a CFL grow, eventually using an Autopot.

Current setup:
2x 23W 2700K CFLs
2x 5" Reflectors

Day 2

They are definitely growing!

This potting soil sucks, it has no drainage. The Autopot it comes with a 1/2 peat, 1/2 Aerolite mix that should work much better.

Anytime you find something like this, appreciate it. The first few steps are already done for you. Perhaps with a bit of knowledged TLC it will turn out to be some great smoke

I'm really interested to hear how autopot works. I really want to use that for my grow.

Switch your bulbs out to Daylight CLFS (6400k) and you will see much better growth, when flowering use the ones you have in combination with the Daylights.

Thanks, DierWolf. I have some new lights on the way.

I was planning on just having 2 lights. When they go to flower should I use 1 2700K and 1 6500K or 2 2700K? Or should I try and squeeze 3 lights in there, maybe 2 2700K and 1 6500K?

Also, I just bought a timer. Should I stay on 24/0 light or switch to 18/6?

2x2700 to 1x6400 the more the better naturally. They are using only 32watts of energy and i am sure you have more than 1 100w regular light bulb running in your house at the moment so dont feel as if its going to drive up your eletricity bill any by adding more.

For veg i usually use a ratio of 4x6400k to 1x2700k for dual spectrum.

I am SO pulling up a chair on this one...

You said you found these in your backyard when you moved in? I'm betting you have the great-great-great grand-seedlings of somebody's private garden, probably the previous owners. From the looks of it, it was probably some indica variety.

If that's the case, I'm also betting these may have gone a bit wild...
The plus side of that? Great disease and pest resistance... Survival of the fittest, ya dig?
The down side of that? The strain may have lost some of its potency over generations and need a little selective breeding to rediscover its former glory. Nothing I can think of in nature would select AGAINST the content of THC, so I doubt it would lose much of its potency, if any.

In any event, the genes have probably strayed a bit from whatever it ONCE was, so there's no point in trying to identify it as some sort of commercial brand, like White Widow or Northern Lights. That would be like trying to identify all the pure-bred dogs that make up a mutt.

Some of the experienced breeders on this site can set me right if I got any of that wrong - I'm just geeking out on the whole Darwinian aspect of it all.

Tame that feral plant!!! May as well think of a new name for it, too.
