Dude i just got the same seeds in the mail; Northern Lights#5 x Big bud from Nirvana. Hope mine come out like yours man. I have CFL's for flowering but your making me think again about a HPS.

@Swa_Swa : Yeah flushing when needed is a bitch.
First I notice trouble with your leaves, and then the pH shock from flushing makes it worse.
I had to remove so many big leaves from the plants because of this.
It surely had a big negative impact on the yield.
I should have taken it more easy with the nutes......again.......(argh argh)

DAY 083 (day 51 of 12/12 under HPS)
Amber pistil hairs at 20%

I've noticed two things the since my last update.

1. More THC-drops are forming on the buds still. It's get a bit more 'snowy' look on it, but not nearly as snowy as my previous grows.

2. Most of the THC-drops (or whatever the hell those drops at the end of the trichomes are called) are not on the pistils hairs but on smaller green leaves on and in the buds. As a matter of fact, it's damned hard to find such a 'THC-drop' on a pistil hair anywhere on the plants. The buds are very dense though, and when squished release the sticky icky from within.

What's up with this? Are not the pistil hairs supposed to be glittering with juices instead of those smaller leaves? Or is this a feature of certain phenotypes including this one?

DAY 087 (day 54 of 12/12 under HPS)

I AXED my grow!
Before I axed them, I gave them 48 hours of darkness and 4 days without water.
At only 40% amber pistil hairs because my daily smoke test showed it was time.

I manicured them, weighed them and hung them to dry.
Wet weight is 75,77 and 78 grams so total 230 gram for all three.
Interesting to see that there's no noticeable difference between pinched or topped plants, when looking at my yields.

Also interesting that the topped plant produced 4 'main' cola's, two of about 13 grams and two of about 26 grams.
So the two smallest are allmost exactly half the weight of the two biggest.
And all 4 combined weighs allmost exactly as much as one of the pinched plants, which has a single cola.

The fattest cola weighed 66.9 grams wet!

The fattest cola's 66.9 grams original wet weight dropped to 53.7 grams in 24 hours time.
So what does one do when one is waiting for their harvest to dry except taking statistics?

I'm not so happy with the end result my self.
I wanted more yield and the quality of this NL*BB smoke is below average.
It only gives me a couchlock not a shred of headhigh....about medium stoned.
And while smoking it tastes like ...well... grass... really. Not nice.
My previous grow gave me more stronger weed with at least some effects on the head.

I think I'm done drying now.
See here how 66.9 g wet bud dries up to 18.5 grams in 8 days.

That's a 72% loss in mass.

Meaning 64 gram dry yield for all three plants combined.

Good thing that this was such a short grow!

Dont get yourself down at all man thats still over two full ounces of pretty dank looking bud. Give it a few more smoke samples, you could come to like it.

Did you flush the soil properly 2 weeks before with no feedings?

During my last grow I had the same yellowing problems during flowering, Because of nute problems and stuff.(first grow) So they did get overfed.
Then I came home to see that my lights collapsed on them, burning 4 out of 5 plants.
The only one that didnt get burnt was my biggest lady, which was having the least amount of problems, and she did get flushed a good week and a half before the incident. After curing for about a week I tested each bud and the plants that didnt get flushed and given time to eat up all the nutes, had a gass like taste. Sucks.
The plant that I did flush had a blueberry spice taste to it. Kick ass.
