Chemical

Thanks Lads! I am pretty stoked with this current setup.

The water level being constant keeps the PH and Nute Strength normal.

I used the fullon res setup first time, but using one large tub was making things difficult.

I only do one full change of nutes/water per grow!! Thats when i get to 12/12, I give them a good flush before the Flower nutes go in. I use the pump in the bucket to suck all the water out.

Watering - Not totally auto, there are way better methods i think, but i can get 3 days without checking.

I have a small pump in each bucket, and a 140Litre res with pump. To fill em up i just pop the hose under the lid and turn the pump on, you can water as many as you all at once with a hose into each bucket. The res has a large airstone.

The SCREEN - I am not convinced about the screen method yet, but i just use the pumps for changes or adding nutes.

Next grow has started, new larger grow area, 3 super Skunk, one mango and 1000w of light.

Here we go again....

Waddo, this is a great thread....thanks man! I want to setup a bubble bucket room myself, so this helps out alot...pictures are worth a thousand words.

I've seen different answers to this question, but how loud are the bubblers, and is the noise of the entire setup (ballasts, fans etc) something to worry about? I'll be setting up in a walk in closet, about 6'x5'x9'. I was thinking of building walls out of styrofoam insulation (and possibly noise dampening material of some sort). I have access to all the a/c ducts I need, and will have a scrubber box in the attic space with at least a 4" fan and can filter. I've seen some big fancy setups that cost thousands of dollars, but i can't emulate them...too expensive!!

Did you ever consider SOG? Why did you choose to only grow, at most, two plants?

The setups I'm familiar with are organic (soil), and large scale drip emitters....I want to try the bubbler (just makes sense to me, more oxygen is good), and the drip emmiter setups I saw seemed to use ALOT of nutes....seems like the enclosed bubbler wouldn't use up as much....?.....

The RDWC thread is using about a 6'x6' grow area. there is 4 buckets but only 3 plants. Those plants are really big though. U could probably do 6 buckets or more in that area depending on your lumen's and temp control and air circulation. The key is to keep the water moving. If you go with the re-circulating style system with a res, just make sure your returns create a water fall effect inside the container to provide airation of the water and you should be good. You can take it a step further and put air stones in each bucket as well.

Good luck. Hope this helps

Sick

New pics to be posted tomorrow, Harvest and my new up and coming girls. 3 x SS and 1 x Mango.

"but how loud are the bubblers, and is the noise of the entire setup (ballasts, fans etc)"

All my fans are hung using a rubber bungy = no vibration sounds, the bubblers are minimal noise, just keep em pointed to the side a bit.. Styrofoam is a great insulator of both noise and heat. My room is pretty quiet in general.

Did you ever consider SOG? Why did you choose to only grow, at most, two plants?

Any more than 5 we get into trouble here. I am sticking to 4 max now.

"seems like the enclosed bubbler wouldn't use up as much"

Man i just keep my PPM optimum all the time, I have it sussed when to add just water etc... and only do one change the whole cycle, thats between Veg & Flower. Sure, it saves ya heaps on Nutes

Just do NOT let any light into ya buckets.

I cant wait to em! I am interested in the Blueberry.
