1st Grow - CFL's - Northern Lights

Well this is my first grow, about a month old now so I will start from the beginningish.

My grow setup is a box I built measuring 2 foot x 2 foot x 3 foot high

I am using 3 x 125w envirolites 6400k for the vegative growth and 3 x 125w envirolites 2700k for flowering.

I have a Vortice extractor fan that moves over 350cfm 125mm (this is outside the growbox)

A 6" computer fan to move some air around (not alot however)

and well here it goes....

Ok I didnt take any pictures until day 10, and these are a little vague but here we go:

I have already repotted into 8" pots, I germinated 5 seeds and all were succesful, they started in smaller pots and I repotted after about 5 days I think. I am using John Innes seed and potting compost, no nutrients as of yet!

One stage of watering since day 10, not much else other than moving the lights up one stage.

Watered again, no real problems as of yet, plants seem happy enough! had some slight problems with temparature due to not using the right extractor fan(I started with a simple 100mm 96cfm bathroom extractor fan BIG MISTAKE! lol) heres some pics

These babies are starting to shine, very happy means as I havnt used any nutrients yet!!!! although I think I will need to go and buy me some as im sure the plants would likes some!!!!

This was the 24th of February, I will post an update later as I am switching to flowering and I am 99% sure I have at least 3 females, fingers crossed

Any feed back appreciated as touch wood, I have had little to no problems so far, and means as it is my 1st grow, I am expecting some!

Ok today I switched bulbs to flowering bulbs, took some more pics too, using the gf's camera so experimenting a bit, the macro shots on it arent so good, although it could just be me and my skills (lack of)

I also bought some nutrients, 14-12-27 that should suffice for flowering? or is there too much of the other nutes?

Just a quick update, will post pictures later hopefully(camera batteries died!)

I gave the babies a little water with a weak soloution of nutes, hopefully they like em! I am however trying to identify sex asap, I am sure I have 3 females, as the pisitils are clear in the previous pics (I will a shot of each plant later) but I managed to get a picture of one of the male suspects before the battery died, and wondered if anyone can say yes/no or cant tell yet?

I just realised that I bought the wrong pack of nutrients, so will have to get some after work for flowering, plants seem ok, hopefully they will start to burst out a bit over the next few days.

I was talking to this bloke I know who has a few mates who grow MJ, and was talking to him about weed in general when he told me this, so I was like what do they grow etc.... so anyways, he tells me that about 1 month/1 and a half months into flowering they switch the lighting to 11 hours light and 13 hours dark, because this makes the plant grow more bud due to thinking winter is even closer or something along those lines, can anyone back this up, it sounds realistic to me, but as this is my first grow I wont pretend to know anything about growing!

What size pots are you using? They look great! I'm growing NL as my first grow as well. I'll be watching to see how these turn out.

They are only 8" pots, maybe 3 litres, not sure, but I may increase this if I am right about male to females, im giving them one more day to show a little more of their sex and then chopping the would be males!

I will watch your grow, from what I have seen it looks as though you have got the stuff you need, although I would grow a couple more to increase chances of a female

1,3,5 look are female, 2,4 appear to be male. Although 3 shows a female hair Id keep an eye on her.. should be two pistols there....

Ok so i decided to chop the males, it wasnt easy to be honest, I found myself feeling like a bad person killing this plant just for being a bloke, but anyways, I managed it and now have three plants left, I took some pics of the suspect males, and a couple of others, better ones tommorow me thinks.
