Opened my seeds to see that there was only 4 in there, not 5. I'm only germinating two so I'm not too worried about it.

Should I vent the tupperware container at all?

No important news as of yet, they germmed a little, my first sprout . I'm gonna give em till tomorrow before I transplant.

A couple pictures..

I have a gut feeling styrofoam might be a bad idea to use, if it is i'll go get a dixie cup. The seed isn't in there yet so it's no big deal.

I had an ironic laugh this morning when I set the lights up for a pic and noticed its a total of 420watts, and it wasn't intentional. Haha.

All of them are going to one plant, and I'm going to set them from top to bottom.

Is there anything I need to do to the soil before I put the seed into it? And is it necessary to cover it with wrap until it pops through the soil? Thanks again guys, I'm so excited to finally get the ball rolling. Hopefully an update tomorrow with putting it into the soil!

Edit: And as of right now, I was using the (I know, I know) Miracle Grow Organic Mix. Is it worth it to spend the money on the Fox Farm Ocean Forest mix?

Hi there

Hi there. I will be watching as well.

Just started my own grow. Like you watched for ages.

I've started with UK Miracle Grow for first potting.

Good luck.

GL with the grow dude.
lookin forward to it!

personally if you can get your hands on some FF ocean soil (or equivalent) and it's in your budget then it would be money well spent.

I figured I might as well spend an extra 20 dollars on some quality soil than kill my seeds that cost more than that. I got a bag of Ocean Forest. It was my first time in a hydroponics store, and oh man I was like a kid in a candy store. I just wanted to buy everything!

I've started off with the Miracle Grow because the seeds cost me nothing an I want to try technque out first.
I'm one of those that can read an read others stuff but only truely learn by keepin a journal an my own mistakes.
But there again, I've known mates that don't go for all the gadgets an chuck it in pots an it's fine.
Suppose it depends where you are and what the quality of your natural sources are like. Tap water for instance, where I am is really quite refinned compared to some countries.

UPDATE! Got the Fox Farm. Got some Tiger Bloom as well, gonna start with that when I flower though.

They finally sprouted, so I put them in the cups around 1/2" deep, and covered the top with styrofoam. Now I'm just playing the waiting game until they sprout so I can start giving these some light!

I don't have as much room as anticipated, so I'm just going to veg both for a couple weeks and scrap the slacker.

Don't cover the sprouts. Once they break soil let them breath.

I'm curious about your bulbs there, I've never seen that brand before. Are they really 100w bulbs, or equivalent to 100w? Do they have a lumen rating? Wish I could make the pic bigger. Good choice with Fox Farms by the way, excellent stuff.

They are "equivilent" to 100w. I'm pretty sure it's actual 32 or something like that. But since it's all going to one plant in the end, I'm not worried about needing any more.

Yeah you're good. I'd hate to see you murder one though, you won't have enough room even if you were to LST them into nice compact bushes? I wanna see you get an oz per plant too.
