CFL= compact fluorescent= fluro tubes, fluoro's ect. Your long tube is a CFL. It also looks to me like it is a 2500k or 3500k color temp by the orangish red glow. This may be another reason why they are slow to veg. For veg, the correct color temp is 5500k to 6500k which is more of a blue.

P.S. Good luck in Jamaica mann.

hahaha i knew my answer was a a stupid one but at least i tried. wish i had kept the box to tell you what color temperature they are exactly.
orange red glow? those lights look very blue to me.
maybe the reflection of the hps off of them makes them look orangish?

anyways word is im leaving on april fools (unless thats a cruel joke)
so ill be around till then. im actually happy with how they are vegging lately. could go faster but i cant say they are growing slow now. i already have to tie down the head again to start creating a spiral with the stem. i hope i can complete a spiral before i leave. it pisses me off that i wont be here when they are booming to LST and possibly top/fim again. My Mom thinks its stupid to worry about my plants here while im enjoying jamaica. but god knows ill still be thinking about them while im there lol. (maybe ill direct her to LST guides as well haha)

the soil is still damp from 2 plants i flushed and they need the nutes...should i keep waiting or just feed them? seems like they will never dry up...

OK If the light looks blue to you then it is probably 5500-6500k. Give them nutes when the soil has dried out.

Last update before i leave to jamaica for 2 weeks!

done^.
its official im leaving tomorow night. i can only hope all goes well while im gone.

I definitely dont have time to create a spiral wih the plants that are in LST. im trying to follow the graph in the LST guide but im not sure im doing it right.
i have one string tied at the base of the stem, one string tied at the middle of the stem and one string tying down the head
(i should have bent it earlier i think) can someone let me know if im on the right track so far? can i leave them as they are and tie the heads down when i get back or should i have someone continue the spiral while im gone?
plz lemme know before i leave!

this is the other plan in LST. the one i topped before. (yes the one i snapped, but the stem already recovered)

ive been thinking about doing a spiral by growing the 2 dominant heads in the opposite direction .(like an "S" that will turn into an "8"... or a yinyang *ahem pun intended)

do you think its a good idea or should i keep it growing like this?
lemme know before i leave!

now this is what i have feared. plant problems while im gone!
The new growth has been growing 1 to 3 finger leaves only wtf? and some of them are curling downwards...
others have edges curling upwards. the top of the leaves look a bit bubbly.the tops of the plants seem weaker. if i dont fix this now i wont be here for 2 weeks to help them!
so can someone plz help me help them?
i know its probably asking alot but i need answers to all these questions quickly...
*stressed and paranoid*

Don't panic, they look fine. When the leaf edges fold over onto themselves it means there is some heat stress.

Hope he got the message before he left, but after being in Jamaica for a few hours he'll forget all about his grow. Hope it all works out, sure Mom will keep them healthy.

im back from my amazing trip!
it was a long 2 weeks and i missed my babies so much hehehe.

SmknVTEC we posted pretty much at the same time and i had to run out the house as i was typing so i missed your mesage but thx for reassuring me

as for an update the batteries in my camera are dead due to all the pics i was taking in jamaica so ill have to post pics later. (btw the weed is shwag down there)

They have obviously grown but they also have been stretching a bit.
ever since the Re-veg all i get is 1 to 3 finger leaves that curl downards and the plants are also becoming weaker, wimpy like especially at the tops. since i have no pics for reference you can basically observe the last ones i posted and just imagine the same symptoms 2 weeks growth later...are you sure this isnt a problem? why dont i have normal 5-7 finger fan leaves?

i went through the same thing in my first grow and ended up with a very wimpy plant. i DO NOT want this to happen again. my fan has been on rotating this whole time on medium and they arent as strong and sturdy as they should be. do i need to add a second fan or something?

Hey Ying the mix in the plants veg and flower chemistry causes the single fingered leaves. I've gone through the same thing with several plants.

Big Edit , i'm an idiot and did'nt read , lol I did'nt know you were flowering. The curling probably isnt good , i've never seen that before , looks almost like over heating , probably due to reveg.
