Looking good.

You may want to cover the tops of you buckets with something. Keep the light from forming algae on the hydroton.

Check my current setup to get an idea.

I will have updated pictures tonight.

Sounds like a good Idea Eco...You or anyone else have an idea of what material I should make those covers out of? I looked at your setup but was unable to determine. I'm thinking like a vinyl cutout maybe?

Anywayz, the plants seem to love the light being lower. They are now huddled underneath the light atleast until they get too big to do so. I will have update pictures by the end of the week.

I'll tell you guys that there is nothing more relaxing and soothing then sitting amongst my plants and chilling. I don't smoke in there or anything like that but most days I find myself just sitting in there staring at them. i can't imagine what I'll do when they are flowering...

I remember the day I decided to grow. I had been invited to a city that isn't exactly around the corner from me and had to drive an hour or so to get there. The purpose of this trip of course was to score some dank. After arriving I was told to wait an hour or so because my homeboy was apparently in a movie. So I grabbed some dinner and after the wait was up i called him. He then informed me that he was just going into the movie and wouldn't be able to hook me up.

The level of anger I enjoyed that evening was of no pleasantry....

On my way home, I decided that there would be a day it would end. That day, though still so far, is marked. I will be independant of "homeboys" and become my own dealer. Yet today, smoking on my bag of mids seems alittle more ok....I know it won't be forever...

Vinyl cutouts exactly. Good guess.

If you see my room I have a black plastic vinyl covering the window. One side is black, one side is white. I bought like 30 sq ft. of the stuff and so I had a bunch leftover. I just cut squares just bigger then the tops of my buckets and taped it down. Make sure you cut a hole in the center big enough for the main stem to expand into.

Keep your lights about 18" from the tops of the plants. That should be the right distance so as not to cause burn. It will also minimize your stretch. Check my thread later tonight or tomorrow and I will have some updated pics.

Hey guys!!!

Paul Hornby here... Getting ready for my photo update but I wanted to share my first little bump in the road with you guys. About 5 days ago I noticed some yellowing in my new growth. This happened concurrently with dropping the light to 22" and stepping up the nutes. At this point I wasn't sure of the problem so I went to my friends at the local hydro shop and they helped tremendously.

The problem was peculiar because it didn't seem to effect the biggest of the lot, however the smaller more undeveloped ones were not looking good. Upon speculation we figured it could be a combination of a few things. With some research I found that different nutrients are uptaken by the plant at different PH levels. It was suggested to me to vary the PH within a specific range when flooding the buckets instead of keeping it constant. The frustrating part was that both me and my roomate were trying so hard to keep levels stable ...You grow you learn.

In addition, my friend(which is a hot little piece that knows a ton about growing. Can it get any hotter?) at the hydro shop explained that I might need to flush the salts out of my root zone. We raised the light up 6 inches as well in order to ensure little stress when recovering. All in all today they have made a full recovery! The new growth on all of the plants is now a lush green .

We have most of the girls bent over now but we are still working on the last three. Also, we have topped some of them and the first one we did(Miss Blue) Has her two new growth fully developed. It is interesting looking at the first set of pics. They have gotten so much larger. Will update with pics on Friday!

Massive Update

Dr Paul Hornby here for a long over due update. I would tell you guys what I've been up to, but I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves...

after more lst

Ran into some shading because of the Blueberry plant becoming a bush, so we decided to get a HydroHut

Isn't hydroponics fun?

Annnnnnd that's a rap. Just bought a new digital light timer that can run 2 600 watt fixtures and a couple pairs of Sunlifts to lower the lights to the proper height. The only thing left to do is vent it with ducting, get a carbon filter, and a water chiller. But we are vegging right now under 1000 watts, 600 watt eye hortilux super HPS EN and a 400 watt eye hortilux metal halide. The plants were being shaded by the giant blueberry plant that is now under practically it's own 400 watt light. It's just insane.

It was an incredible amount of work to set everything up because of how little room we had to work with. But we are almost at a point of having it totally set up, just a little bit more fine tuning.

Going to be cloning and flowering in a week, 12 weeks of veg time

Take care and smoke on,

Dr. Hornby

Yep, I SO know where you are coming from. In the end the gangsters wont bother with weed any more because we will have all got fed up with them and there will be LOTS of us growing proper weed and it wont be worth their while to sell it any more. And hopefully it wont be worth the cops worrying about it any more also because there will be so many of us.....

Good luck with it mate, I'll stay tuned.

Lovin It!!!

The girls have really taken off in their new environment. It is amazing to watch their growth. The new light seems to be helping the Mazar bounce back from being shaded. We completed our clone box and they are ready for new babies. I will be posting some pictures later in the week but thanks for the comments guys, as I've said before, I'm new to this and appreciate all input

Introducing...

Hello all, this is my first post here but I have been active with this grow from the beginning. I was with Hornby the night we got screwed on a deal and had to drive an hour home empty handed.

My room is right across from the grow room and the new fan is noisy as hell. I can't wait to install it correctly so it doesn't make so much noise all the time...

Right now the plants are coming back from a case of light deficency brought on by crowding and the lack of use of reflective material for 3 months. They were developing necrosis on the leaves that were getting the least amount of light; but after setting them in the new hydrohut with reflective material and spreading them out under over twice the amount of light they have really been going off. The Mazar have almost caught up with the height on the Blueberry in just 4 days time.

One thing I must say is it really is amazing the amount of stress these things can handle on their stems. It's just amazing to see a stem snap almost in half and then the plant just heal itself and actually become stronger from it. It's one of the coolest things I've seen a plant do that's for sure.

Anyways regarding the light Dier- I was well aware of the lights being too high in the hydrohut at first- we just didn't have light hangers and chains would have been a serious pain in the ass. Hornby was saying we needed to adjust the lights in the previous post- we've been keeping the light as close as possible. The Blueberry plant has burns on the tips of the leaves from the light being so close.

Nice to meet you all, see ya around!

do you ever rotate your plants to make sure that they all receive adequate light? maybe that might help. if you do, good shit!

btw...i know wut u mean about the plants recovering from broken branches. my main stalk broke right thru da middle and all i did was hold it back in place w/ wire and it never showed any sign of stress and it healed itself. amazing lol.
