At home I have Foxfarm Grow big, and big bloom. Only other nutes I have are a general Schultz plant food 10-15-10...but I have not used any of these yet.

The biggest thing I am lacking right now is a good PH meter. I am using test strips, and just got a soil PH kit and another liquid dropper PH tester...but from all I read a good digi PH meter is more accurate.

you really have to go crazy to burn them with the foxfarm nutes.. i think you're safe going 1/2 str after a few weeks. I wouldn't wait for a deficiency to start using nutes.
get the digital meter, i just picked one up this week, was the best purchase i made yet. Check the water PH after you add the foxfarm stuff, it lowered my PH quite a bit.

Lookin like you got it in order man.. plants look real nice.

yea he would definitely need to measure ph when using foxfarm nutes. I would not recommend test strips, they are way too inacurrate, get a good digi meter before messing with nutes, so u ensure u dont have a lockout from low ph.

Sup all!?

So I got some PH drops while I wait for the digi meter to arrive..and guess what? The test strips were sooo far off it' sunreal. Strips were telling me my water was almost acidic, the PH drops (suppose to more accurate then strips, according to hydro store guy) said I was almost at PH7.5. Good thing I have a bottle or PH Up and Down. So I had watered 2 days ago, but descided to water again to correct the PH. Checked the runoff PH and it was 6.5, so that put a smile on my face.

So here are ht elittle ones as of yesterday. QUESTION, the sickly looking one, should I be removing more of the dead leaf, or let it do it's own thing? I already took some deadness off a day ago.

Just adding a side shot of Lil.

Can anyone answer my question, on if I should be trimming all deadness off of the traumatized transplant patient?? As stated, I removed the majority of dead leaves, is this beneficial to do, or should I leave it alone??

where is the 400 mH at man? get those girls under that light they will love it! they were to small the last time, Uh and just use white paint, it reflects just as well as mylar, doesnt look as cool and flashy but it works. my two cents man i hope i can help some more, i have not used a ph pen and have never needed to use one ( so far) coco coir balances itself out to a normal level of ph 6.5 thats why is use coir! Man he fox farm nutes are organic, not chemicals you can give em that stuff early on (half strength) but they will be fine, I agree with west don't wait to see it go bad just go a little food and then water, alittle more food water.... just go slow

you can go ahead and just trim the parts that look bad.

If more than 50% dead remove, otherwise, deal with the shame of hurting them. It will be a good reminder not to do it again!

and i trusted those p.h. test strips. i got a p.h. probe that you stick in the soil, but i really dont trust this thing!!!!

Tried a soil probe too, no luck, POS it was. I cannot use the 400HPS, just too damn hot. If it wasn't an appartment I would be happy to mod and make ventilation, but oh well!

Got some new pic's will up load soon.

Right now for veg I have:
1 150 watt CFL 6500k with big sunshade hood.
1 42 watt CFL
1 2bar 2foot floro tube 40 watt

For Flower I will go to 2 125 watt CFL 2700k plus the 2bar 2foor floro, and the 42watt CFL.

Total power 332 watts for flower

I also have a 4 foor floro tube that I will use if it all fits in there and stays cool.

it_420, got pics?...I will post another one here, it is from Saturday, batteries dead this AM, so growth is further along then you see here.

LOL, Deal with the shame! Well, I already hurt one of my babies transplanting, and don't need to feel any more shame, so I chose to not mess around...well, since I first removed some dead leaves. It is looking much better now (still kinda ugly though)...check it out, this is from Saturday so 2 days old...it looks much better everyday.

Also, if my days are right(tracking days is not my strong suit...they all seam to blend into one another, and I smoke a lot, tomorow will be the little one's 3 week birthday. So I will be sure to get new pic's tonight.

Hey birdman - coco coir balances itself out to a normal level of ph 6.5 thats why is use coir! - Really? No need to check PH even after nuting??

Absolutely wrong, your plant absorbs elements of your nutes at different rates which can cause imbalance in pH. Always and I repeat always, monitor your plants pH and TDS in hydro.
