Mr. Bojangles' NL DWC ScrOG Stealth Cab Grow (pics)

Here is my setup, its so perfect for small, personal grows of like 3-4 plants! The strain is Northern Light from Nirvana Seeds. Right now I have about a couple more weeks left until harvest. This will be my first successful grow.

System Details:

Grow Method: ScrOG method using chicken wire for the screen which works very well. Screen is placed approximately 20 inches from the reservoir, I think.

Cab: Mini Cool Cab system from www.sunlightsheds.com (yes it was a shit load of money but they hook you up with pretty much everything you need to start growing right away, prebuilt, no matenance required, and it works perfect for scrogging). Box is very stealth, looks like a file cabinet, has locking doors. I am way too lazy to go store hopping and spend hours assembling my own cabinet so i think it was worth all the money.

Lighting: 400w Digital Ballast w/ switchable 400w MH and HPS bulbs with air-cooled ventilation.

Air: 3 intake fans (2 into main growing area, 1 into cool tube), 1 exhaust fan at top of cab connected to carbon filter on exterior. Air temp stays at an average of about 84 degrees F during light, and about 74 degrees during dark phase.

Hydroponics: Simple 3 plant homemade DWC/Bubble bucket with air stone under each plant. Sometimes I use an ultrasonic fogger to create a nutrient fog in the reservoir to promote rapid growth.

Nutrients: General Hydroponics FloraNova series (2 parts: Grow and Bloom). I do not recommend these nutrients to anyone because they don't dissolve well into the water, they will stain the roots dark brown almost looking like root rot, and they leave a heavy residue in the reservoir. I am using the nutes just because they came with my system. I intend on using the regular 3-part Flora series next grow. I also use Spray-N-Grow a couple times a week during flowering (which was also included with the system.)

A couple more weeks of flowering and they should be ready to chop down. Im hoping to harvest atleast a QP from the 3 plants. Let me know what you think! Any suggestions???

STAY TUNED FOR SOME TRICHOME PICS W/ 30x EYE LOUPE!

I was messing around with my digital camera and this 30x eye loupe i bought to check out the trichs, and got some pretty amazing shots. Im so damn anxious to cut these down but im gonna wait til the trichs are about half amber and half cloudy, anybody else recommend this?

chopped one down

One of my plants got bad nute burn or somthing later on in flowering and never fully recovered. The leaves started to turn crispy with a brown, rusty color . Im pretty sure its cuz of a nute/salt buildup because when i made my bubble bucket i didn't realize i needed a drain on it to flush regularly, so from clone to now these plants havnt been flushed at all!! i cant even clean out the reservoir cuz the plants are attached to the screen which is attached to the box.

The other 2 plants seem to be doing alright now, they are a little burnt as well but ive been keeping the PPM at a good level, and it hasnt seemed to progress much. The plant i cut down ended up not being bad at all, i got some nice sized buds as you can see in the pictures, i think its a pretty good harvest for just one plant anyway. On the other hand, one thing strange that i noticed on that plant was some of the smaller, premature, mini buds that havnt fully developed were showing signs of being a hermie. When i saw that i was like like oooooooo nooooooo, but i noticed that only the premature/newer small growths showed signs and not the larger buds... I think its turnin hermie cuz of the over fertilization and my dirty reservoir... im just hoping there arent seeds in all of them!!

Besides that, i found this pefect location to dry under my TV stand, i cut a hole in the back and placed a small fan back there facing out the hole for air circulation. Then i found this metal shelve thing at my place and hung all the buds from that, and placed all the tiny buds on the bottom. With the doors closed, its nice and dark under there. Right now it's maintaining a steady air temp of 75 degrees F, and a humidity of around 45%.

final harvest

all my plants are finally harvested. From just 3 plants, i yielded approximtely 1/2 lb of dried/cured buds. Scrog method is definately something worth looking into.

Thanks hos, the plants were about 14 inches when they started growing up into the screen. I actually never ended up topping or FIM, i just let the plant grow into the screen, and whenever a branch would grow taller then the others, i would pull it back under the screen and pull it up in a different location to keep the plants level. After awhile, the plants started to grow horizontally under the screen.
