Oops, just read this, i guess the holes in the plastic worked good enought, they all perked back up.
but on second thought I did some re-aranging, got the lil girls closer to the light and a low power fan blowing across them

Day 6, no water added yet since initial planting of germinated seeds, soil is still slightly damp, temp is 65-70, 4x20watt 6500k floro's runing 24/0

Yes floro's will work just find for what your trying to establish right now.. dont let people get to you on floro's, i have seen people use only floro's on this forum that do better than people with large hps's.. its all how you use it and your techniques.

I rotated them so the furthest plants are closest to the fan, soil is starting to barely take on a dry look up top and doesnt feel so moist anymore on the surface. I might add a little water later on today, some minor growth lastnight, but mostly just stretching to the floro's

Miricle grow one is the tallest so far, but they all seem to have slowed a bit, soil is starting to mostly look dry on the top layer. might add some water later tonight.

edit : 9pm, gave em a splash of water, the soil drank it right up, non drained through.. gonna keep it moist like that,.. umm cuz it seems right for now

FYI, I put the light too close, one of the smaller plants completely closed its leafs and fell over, so i backed thelight up about 2" and checked the hotspots, gave them all a splash of water 'n propped the fallen over one up with a bit of soil.

This morning i cant even tell which one fell over.. only thing to coment on is that the miricle grow plant is Definatly noticably larger and moving along much faster than the other ones. I'm sure i'll post some pictures at some point

ONE of these plants went from germination strait to Mircle Grow Potting Soil

Can YOU guess which one?

maybe the "nay" sayers aren't always right?

I've been lightly misting them daily and giving them a heavy dose of water every few days

maybe is hould transplant the little ones into some mircle grow?

Problem with MG is it starts out OK.
Then the slow release ferts kick in.
And keeps kicking in.
Problem is, there's no telling how much fert is released versus how much the plant needs/used already.
This 'balance' will change over time.

Good luck!

Good luck!
when i transplant them i plan on doing a half/n half mix of crap walmart soil and mircle grow.. that way the nute hit shouldnt be so bad while they are still in early stages.

I'll be doing that next week i think judging by growth on the MC one.. fornow i'm increasing my waterings to a good drenching every other day and mutliple misting sessions with a spray bottle inbetween (super low humidity and the fan & hot shop light are drying this small amount of soil out fast)

I also added about an 1.5" of MC potting soil to the top of each cup. giving a little more soil to stablize the stems and add very small amounts of nutes to the plants that didnt get to stay in the MC soil. I may be seeing early stages of burning on my bigger plant from being in this soil for so long, or it might be under watering (these things dry out fast!)

I honestly think you will do better with just potting soil.

your plants may look fine now but by next week they'll be crap.
