Glad you made it back! I was honestly worried for a bit there. So i have a question.. I have 5 rooted clones.. and my big plants are WEEKS away from harvest... ![]() Um... I guess i can just put them in soil for now? how extensive should the root structure be?

I keep my clones in the clone'r till I am ready for the next cycle. Mix a 50% batch of veg and put it in the clone machine. You are damn lucky them monsters rooted. That is a hefty clone. Try small shoots with two or four leaves. I dont mist or dome mine and they dont wilt. Yours got ruffed up because it had a lot of cells to feed with no roots. Cut the stem at a 45* angle or more. Them roots need more time in the cloner anyway ma brotha. You have lots of clone time left if you need it. |

ok, i added nutes. only thing i'm worried about is that my cloner isnt a DWC set up.. its just 1 fogger ( I'll take some pictures tomrrow, the roots are CRAZY fast and healthy looking,, not even my main plants had roots like this when i transplanted em) so if my roots hit the water, they will not get any air plus they will get tangled in my small baskets These 5 clones are from the plant that TOOK OFF in mircle grow, so i'm kinda thinking about potting them in some MC and tossin them under the floro's to veg thanks for the input rump |

Keep them in the cloner, did you cut all of them like that??? reason i am asking is because your giving yourself alot of headache cutting it staight off like that. It should be a 45 degree angle cut and perferrably right under 2 sets of fanleaves, you rip off the fanleafs and then you have 3 surfaces for roots to come out of... Right now your root system isnt good enough to put in soil just yet because of the cut you made. Suggest the following : on the one side of the stem at the bottom where these is no root coming out take a blade or very sharp knife and scuff the side so some of the green comes off, this will promote root growth in that area. Always remember when cloning the more inner surface exposed the better chances of success when cloning. Frankly your quite lucky it rooted (that one anyways)

it only looks like a strait cut because i had to twist the stem that direction to show the roots better. the backside of the stem is where the 45 degree cut is.. Here's a better shot ![]() the angle was more pronounced when i cut them. but its been a few days ![]() you can also see how "branchy" the roots are due to the mist all 5 of them look similar to this one, though one droops if i dont mist it (so i just keep misting it.. hehe) Last edited by mordgrow; 04-02-2007 at 04:27 AM. |

I dont use a DWC cloner, I use a simple aeroponic clone machine that is about the same as that fogger thing you made. Nice job though. They LIVE!

I increased the nute dosage for the clones also, its in the 375ppm range, not sure how much the foggers kick up, but suposedly they deliver what ever is in the water into the super fine mist also.. My big girls are sitting at 800PPM and 5.6PH across the board. water usage has gone WAY down since i went to 12/12 Last edited by mordgrow; 04-03-2007 at 07:03 AM.

on a side note, i put in my Vortex fan right when i started flowering, and temps went from 90ish at the hottest, to 76 at the hottest.. I'm sure thats the main reason water usage went down.. maybe i'll ad a mufffler box to restrict airflow/silence/heat up the room. I'm also considering re connecting the heat vent to my grow room so my fan can pull air from the HRV system instead of the basement (where it also vents) more C02 and warmer air?? |
