Yeah, this test run will definatly help me decide if the set up i have now will work, or if i need a new location (mostly due to smell! hehe)

I'm going to do a pre carbon filter, a post filter, and some "anti oder" agent through the intake. hopefuly it works

before you go and buy some real expensive carbon filter check out some threads around hear. you can easily find a thread that will give you step by step instructions to make your own scrubber for under $30 and most of the supplies you might already have somewhere in your garage.

Ohh i'm all about goin cheap

here's my filter idea:
http://www.gardenscure.com/420/secur...on-filter.html

My deoderizer was a thread on here also. I dont have the link. but here's the basic work up
Quote:
1. A five gallon bucket
2. A "muffin" fan, or a round fan of some sort that has the motor built into the compact frame of the fan. (See pics and you will understand.)
3. A drill
4. A one pound container of Soil Moist, which is a water absorbing crystal. You can find it at almost all nurseries and gorw shops.
5. ONA, or Odor Neutralizing Agent. YOu can get it at most grow shops or "baby" shops for new mommies.
6. A 5 gallong bucket lid, which may be optional.
Should be able to get it all done cheap.

not true, our laws are pretty relaxed though.. anything below 25 plants isn't a felony

hey man, just read a bit through here, love it.

i did read that you picked up 2 MH bulbs and i wanna clear that up for ya. MH bulbs wont work in a HPS ballast. You need 250 watt MH conversion bulbs, which are $59 at the very least from what i found. Ive got a 250 too and i wanted to get a MH but its not worth the price.

I actualy have 2 400w Lumatech Digital Balasts

http://californiahydro.stores.yahoo.net/noname.html
Quote:
Why choose an electronic ballast over a core-and-coil (magnetic) ballast?

* Fast start-up ...It reaches full brightness in under one minute; magnetic ballasts typically take about twenty minutes * Completely silent ...you have to put your ear up to the ballast before you can detect the slightest sound * Small compact design ...600watt ballast weighs less than 4.5 kilos compared to almost 20 kilos for magnetic ballasts. * Produce less heat * Cut-off circuitry ...Automatic cut off when a short is detected. For ultimate safety. * Longer bulb life...Lumen output loss over time is dramatically less than with magnetic ballasts * Fully interchangeable ...Lumatek ballasts can light both HPS and MH bulbs * More lumen output...20%-30% more lumens output...More light equals more yield
they should be able to handle what ever i throw at them.. *should*

I'd also like to vote for the avatar back. For some reason this thread makes me want to sit down with a spliff and a glass of milk.

ok, well, Avatar changed back by popular demand.. lol; "they" always look better when you know they are real dont they?

Here's a quick photo update.. temps are stupid high in there. topping 89 at the hottest point i'm looking into fans now (trying to see if there's an alternative to Vortex for inline fans, I just dont feel like spending 180+ bucks on a "fan" for some reason)

Plant #1
Havent had any trouble with this girl aside from the rough "early start"
Nice and busy

Plant #2
This girl got a little abused while i learned the amounts of PH up/down and Nutes to add, but no significant damage

Plant #3
This bitch has had a rough life, for some reason i'm constantly Nute burning her, but i'm still trying to find her sweet spot.. she seems to be doing ok now

Plant#4
This plant got unhappy the last couple of days, and is still pretty " droopy" might be a PH lock out issue, or maybe just due to the fact that its in a back corner with less air circulation and doesnt like the added heat

Plant #5
This girl really showed me the importants of a nice "head start" before transplanting to Hydro.. She LOVED the Mircle grow i started her in and has been the toughest bitch of the group. I've been swinging her nute levels all over, and no signs of burn yet. she's huge now!

And here's a shot of the over all room, the plants are super dence and growing nicely, I think the smaller 4 are almost ready to pull some clones off (and then i'll flower & continue to LST along the way)

They are a lot tougher once they hit this size, i think i've gotten over the "hump"
