Get some...... they make posts alot more fun to look at.....
I know there's not much between topping and fimming, except when and where the cut is made.

Can a MJ plant only take a certain amount of topping??? thats what the experiment was going to find out.

What would be the different outcomes if I mostly topped or mostly fimmed ?

Thanks DIER !

when plants are mature enough to flower they show pre-flowers. this is nothing to worry about, infact its good. by showing pre-flowewers dosent mean they are flowering
plants are looking good dewd. I read you should never top a plant more than twice, think you've just proved them wrong
keep up the good work and keep us posted

Thanks for the insight, I was getting worried. I've topped this plant about 6 times now.
I'm leaving it grow out from here, but it's as bushy as hell for a little plant.
Thanks again, Cheers

And i think it could probably handle more later in the grow.

Becasue i started these two so early in the season, i knew i would have height issue if i just let them go... SO thats where the topping and fimming experiment came from - just to deal with the height.
Thanks for stopping in.

Update for 2007

Well Happy New '07 to everyone here are grasscity.com

Lets make this a good year for yield.

Just a quick update, i took two weeks off and just got back.

The two plants are in self watering pots so they had plenty of water while I was gone.
I'm a bit worried about them, as they have some leaves turning yellow near the bottom. Can someone offer some advice on peping them up again.

Thanks for stopping by.
Cheers and Beers

have u given them any nutrients? if not, it most likely needs some nitrogen... can u get any close up pics of the worst leaves? also... overwatering can cause yellowing of the leaves but ur plants dont look overwatered

I gave them a bit of Growth fert, about 4 weeks in and they seemed to like it, but i wasn't sure if i was over or under doing it.
Alot of the bottom leaves are yellowing. You think this is a Nitrogen problem.

What should i add to help them along. Help appreciated.
Thanks.

I read in one the sick plant forums that yellowing on the bottom leaves could be an indication of either N deficiency, or pH too high. I read that here:
http://forum.grasscity.com/sick-plan...ems-guide.html

by the way I should point out that I'm a total noob and you should take my comments with a grain of salt. I'm just passing on what I've read.

I'm sure it's either Nitrogen not PH, I have just tested the PH and it's neutral in both pots.
Must be the nitrogen def.
maybe be a little over watering, as it's been rainging here.

test the ph but i think it is a nitrogen deficiency, but make sure ph is in the 6.3-6.8 range, then add nutes that are high in nitrogen (but still contains some potassium and phosporus)... also start with 1/4 the recommended strength and slowly increase it. Plants generally need nutes about once a week, or every other watering.
