So far none allsmokedank, even with the germination bottle. Maybe it's cuz I can't keep the soil warm, but that would involve light and I've been told seeds don't want light.
But I did take down Bonnie, on day 42 of flowering. She was bending almost completely over at the roots. Her trichomes are mostly cloudy and clear, so this should give a head high compared to her twin which will be taken out in a week or so. Growing a clone with no veg time leaves no time for side shoots. Just 1 stem of buds, in my case focused at the top, which is weird because each one had a 42w 2700k CFL at it's base, and the tops were lit only by LED. It seems the LED's work better than the CFL's for flowering. The grow closet has been rearranged. The A's, Alice and Annabelle, are now in the back under the LED bar, still with the daylight 25w between them. They also have a 42w 2700k each at their base for lower lighting. Bessie also uses these two bulbs, and the tubes for top lighting. This grow ended with too much N again, as I wasn't expecting to harvest so early. I never got to flush, but then again never have yet. This plant seems to not need too much N, especially in flowering. For future grows with this mother, I'm going to try to cut off N supply completely in flowering. Ashes also work very well to combat Ca deficiency. As soon as I water them into the soil, deficiency comes to a halt, and stays that way. Very good organic solution. The smell however is just the same. POWERFUL fruity pebbles smell, and if you sniff real close, you can notice a bit of a herbal oregano scent mixed in. Bonnie definitely came out healthier than Mama. Mama's buds were flat on top, I never figured that out. Bonnie had a nicely shaped pointed cola, 2 inches in diameter, which will shrink to a nice dense bud. I really like this strain, fast flowering, sweet, dense, and potent. This may very well be a seed bank strain, the kid who I got it from sells real strains for high prices, and this was his top of the line at the time.

I also set up the bottle again and put 6 new seeds in and 1 from the paper towel. The other 5 in the paper towel I opened up to look inside, and one of them looked like it had a pair of white cotyledons forming. Do you think this was about to crack? What are they supposed to look like in there?
Anyway both outlets are now connected by a T to power one stone. I'm going for at least 48 hours on this run. Also, I was wondering if it would help to add a couple drops of grow big, assuming that since they're so old they used up all their stored nutrients?

Hah yeah I thought of that as soon as I dumped the seeds in the soil and realized, I don't even know where the fuck they are! I was just going by the instructions given to me, I'm with you on the paper towel.

Paper towels have their down side. As well as the main tap-root, there are hundreds of micro roots that will penetrate the towel, and when you pull the seed from the towel, you tear the roots, which can sometimes cause stunting and other deformities.
I've never used the paper towel method, but if I did, rather than pull the seeds from the towel, I'd probably take the whole thing and drop it in a glass of water, let the towel dissolve away, and then carefully spoon out the seeds. -mu |

I didn't know about any microrutes, but I doubt I'll miss these guys cracking open, they take their sweet ass time. I'll just put em in soil before it comes out. I like the paper towel method, it's easier to heat than a pot of soil. Any input Mu on the veg to germinate? I gotta go smoke the rest of my last plant to make room for my new one. This is great, two different kinds of homegrown at once! HAHA

Nice looking bud Kamel. That's what mine was supposed to look like, just one continuous bud with no off shoots. That top looks delecitable.

Yeah, I was pretty high at the time I wrote that. I think. I mean using veg nutes to help these old seeds germinate. But I think I'll just use the seaweed, it's got nutrients anyway plus vitamins n such.
Thanks y&s, I was hoping for a couple branches like you had, but mine didn't veg at all, yours vegged anyway for like a week even under 12/12 right?

With ya. Yeah, seaweed extract has a fairly complete range of nutrients anyway, just not in enough percentages to need an NPK rating, I think. But jammed with micronute and vitamin goodness, fo sho.
I just put some SADPxSkunk #1 in a cup of plain water with 5 drops of seaweed extract (maxicrop) after three weeks in the fridge (or thereabouts), which may or may not be enough to get these apparently hard-to-germ seeds started off. We'll see. More details: When I took them from the bag, I dropped them into the cup of warm (25C ish) water from a height (say 6"). Good seeds should pop straight back up to the top. Then I put two fingers in and rolled the seed around betwen them, massaged it a bit. In a day or less, the good ones should have sunk to the bottom. Then I'll just drop them in makeshift newspaper pots with some 3:1 coir:compost mix, and pray. -mu |

Yeah I think it took about 2 weeks and a few days before we could see it's sex. So I guess it could be said that it had vegged for that long. How much weight you think you'll pull from her?
Edit: and goddamn you're whooping my ass in posts now.

Haha yeah I am you took a little break and I was in bed sick, I racked up quite a few.
No weight yet, I lent out my scale. My guess is somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2.
