No what I'm trying to do here is rearrange them. The bar was missing most of the plants. I'd rather have them closer together so they make a nice big circle of focused light. I thought it would be cool to mount them in a circle around a CFL and a reflector, but since that won't work I want to ghetto rig them to something I can mount from the ceiling.

OK I see.
Since heat is np you can use wood.
So get a plank, make 3 big circular holes in it.
Paint it white.
Fix your lights in the holes.
Hook up some chains on the ceiling and plank.
Wire it up and there ya go.

Day 24 of flowering for the B's. They're doing ok, I've noticed they're showing a little pink color in the pistils, something their mother did too a little bit. For some reason you can see it better in the second picture, but theyre both about the same. The A's are starting slowly, this is day 6. I put the fan back in because I came home today to a 89 degee room and a burnt leaf above one of the 42w's. The seeds aren't doing anything yet.

I soaked 3 more seeds last night in water and superthrive. I'm going to try to get gibberellic acid today if these still don't work. I hadn't soaked the first 3 in water, so I'm wondering if it'll make a difference. 1 dropped in 5 minutes, 1 more this morning, and 1 more just now. They're soaking with the other 3 in paper towel.

I decided to put my tubes to use. I got another kitchen and bath 3000k tube (I only had 1), and set them up above the A's. The 2 26w CFLs that were there are now in front of the A's, lighting from the bottom. I put the LED's back cuz I couldn't think of any good way to mount them. They're farther back, only lighting the B's.

The B's are getting N deficiency, as well as my favorite brown spots and red stems due to lack of calcium. It's wierd how it starts near the lights, I guess cuz that's where activity is highest and it uses up Ca quicker, since it's an immobile element. I'll give them ashes, that seems to work well.

And the A's. Hairs are poking out the top and all nodes. This is day 9 of flowering for them. Still green and healthy, but stems are starting to redden, so I'm going to give them ashes too before Ca def. hits hard.

Nothing from the seeds, I'm going to get gibberellic acid and try that as soon as I can shake this plague. Meanwhile, flowering carries on. This is day 32 for the B's, 14 for the A's. I topped the top bud of Alice on day 9 to see if it helps any.

Thx Aug, I can't wait.
GOOD NEWS! LEDgrowlights.com just lowered prices, and have a new full spectrum grow light. Definitely gonna get 2 of their HO red lights, $110 a piece. Yeah expensive but I firmly believe it will greatly help my flowering section, while cutting down on wattage and heat.

Also thought I'd share plans for another experiment I'm going to carry out on the B's. I want to experience the difference harvesting early makes, so I'm going to harvest 1 clone when trichs are cloudy and clear, with no amber present. The other will be harvested when I normally would. I'll try to make it at least a week's difference.

I can't deal with watching these seeds just sit there anymore, so I cracked each one and put them back down in the paper towel. If I killed em, I've got plenty more.
In accordance with a method told to me on the HG420 forum, I'm gonna try building an apparatus that supposedly works very well for old seeds. It consists of a jar with an air stone in it, and a solution of superthrive and something called DMSO (still trying to figure out what this is). Now I bought the pump, hose, and stones, and I have the superthrive, just need a jar and this DMSO stuff...
Since I now have an air pump that's rated for 20-60 gallon tanks with dual outlets, I think I'm going to try growing hydro for the next round. Another opportunity for a comparison test, hydro vs soil.

Ok so I got me some DMSO and put together the germination bottle. I estimate around 16oz of water, so 20 drops superthrive and 20 drops DMSO. Here is the contraption, and the seeds.

Edit: Thought I'd share what I believe the DMSO is for. I researched a bit, and it seems DMSO is a sort of super water, in that it passes through organic material quicker than water. Anything soluble in water is soluble in DMSO, so what it seems to me that it's doing is helping get the superthive hormones and vitamins into the seeds easier than just with water. I may be wrong, but sounds solid.

The seeds just went into some soil. By the end of their time in the bubbler bottle they were just sitting at the bottom rolling around, which I take as a good sign. Everything else is well.

Still nothing from the seeds.
Rest of the plants are doing great. The B's have gotten so top heavy that they were toppling over, so I had to tie them down. Their tops are pretty fat, with some modest nugs growing down to the bottom. They got bumped around a bit while I was trying to tie them, and when I looked at them under the microscope today, I noticed I broke a lot of trichomes. I hope they grow back. I expect to harvest 1 plant in 1 week, and the other a week later.

The A's are doing very nicely. Many bud sites have formed. The topping on Alice isn't really doing anything, except growing the bud fat instead of long. So far, I'm not impressed.

Also, I ordered 2 of the red lights from LEDgrowlights.com. I have no idea when they'll arrive since they dont mention any shipping times.

I guess I'll never truly know until I find out, so I went ahead and pulled Bonnie out of the garden. I'm gonna cut her down and hang her tomorrow. I wanna know just how much of a difference harvesting early makes, and this will be almost 2 weeks early compared to the mother. 6 weeks flowering time seems real short and it is, but by golly she looks like she'll be ambering up in 1 more week. Musta done something different this time.

P.S. New LED lights are on their way. Hehehehe can't wait.

P.P.S. I just noticed I chopped Mama at 51 days. I'm really only like a week early. I like this strain, delicious buds in a short time.
