Gonna Give It A Go (help me please)

Well, I've been reading here for months and after a good friend giving me some Northern Lights seeds, I decided to invest in a Light. I went to my local Hydropincs shop and purchased a 125w envirolite with reflector for 50pounds! That was where ALL my money went (very tight budget I know, thats why I wanna grow my own weed )
I found some old wood in the garden, bleached it, and screwd it together to make a 7.5ft tall growcab.
I germinated the 2 seeds he gave me wich sprouted after just a few hours, and eagerly I planted them. These wern't doing anything (it seemed) so I asked for another 2, and he gave them to me. I put one of the other 2 into germinate but this time I decided I wasn't going to take it out of germination for 48hours. The other seed I just palnted in some wet soil and decided that I would grow this one the natural way.
5 days have now passed since I tried to germinate my 1st seed, it is now just over 1inch tall and showing its 1st set of REAL leaves, and looking really healthy imo. The second seed I planted is roughly 1/2inch now and looking kinda shitty, not like the 1st. The third seed I germinated for 48 hours, when I opend the wet tissue the Tap-root on it was about 2 inches long! I poked a 2.5inch hole in a party-cup and sat it in there root facing down. Its been about 8 hours since I did that and its already around 1inch tall and shed her shell! The 4th seed that I stuck in the wet soil has cracked open and has a strong looking taproot digging its way down.
I am so happy, I didnt think anything would happen.
The light I am using is 125 6400K Envirolite with reflector
The soil is some cheap crappy stuff wich I sivved for the 1st two but didnt for the other 2
I am just using warm tap water to water them (obviously before I planted them) then covered tgem with a baggy. Today I removed the baggies off the 1st 2 and all is looking really good imo.
Hopefully I'm not going to embarrass myself by starting this thread, knowing my luck they'll all be dead tomorrow (I can drive my car and still manage to tread in dogshit!)
Its been 5 days since my 1st germination and I must've checked them at least 400 times! lol

sounds like your off to a decent start. Much better start then most people. Right now i would just make sure to keep em' happy.......try to keep humidity up a bit and a constant temp if you can. I would suggest getting a fan to circulate some air around your cab. Plus it will wiggle the plants and toughen up the stems. There is much more to growin then just this but if you've been readin up here on the forums im sure you've atleast got a basic idea. I would suggest getting Jeorge Cervantes new book.....excellent for beginners. Anyways good luck and if you need any help just post ur ? and ill try to help you as best as i can. Along for the ride.

Thanks a LOT m4n14c42o I really apreciate the feedback.

I have one of those thermometer/hygrometer in there wich gives max/min readings. The humidity has gone as high as 55% and as low as 37%, The temp has been as low as 20degreesC and as high as 29degreesC. I only have a battery powered fan at the mo (so ashamed of my tight budget!) wich I put my rechargable batteries in every morn and let it go till they are flat. The main plant wich I planted 1st looks really healthy to me with a nice thick stem, but the one I planted without germination is comming along so fast! I'm so fecking happy!

How fucking cool, my mate just text me saying he bought some shite weed last night wich was full of seeds, anyways he has saved them for me and has about 9, but thats just off 1 bud, and i can have all the others he finds! never had any seeds in weed before, so am looking forward to my 1st gagseed grow! Looks as if im gonna have a lot of plants to choose from when I decide to flower a few

I think your hooked, mister2, isn't growing great! keep up the good work, keep reading as well. I'd hold off planting to many more, as you're going to have your hands full when there full grown.

I was planning on planting quite a few and only keeping the strong ones. Plus the more I have boing, the more chance I have of growing a female right?
Can I just ask, whats the earliest you ans sex a plant?

That light should be closer if its a 125w CFL, my current seedlings are a lot bigger than yours and the light is about 4-5 inch from the closest plant

The light is a 125W Envirolite, and is less than 4inches away from the tallest plant. Humidity it 47% and Temerature is 27@ the mo

Looking good so far mate. It does look like you are watering a bit too much but that could be because you watered em right before taking the pix. Lil babies don't need much water just that tender loving care. If that last girl doesn't shed her seed casing within a day or so you should probably do sme surgery. Very lightly try to remove it with either your fingers or, and I've found this works best, a nose-hair trimmer.

High mister2, glad to see your up and running.Everything that your doing at the moment is correct, but just keep an eye on that watering.I think for all us newbies, our over caring kills our first plants. I recommend to just mist the new seedlings for a week.This seemed to work for me.Make sure that you don't saturate the soil.Will be keeping an eye your grow bud.Good luck

I didn't water the plants yesterday, and I wont water them today, then check them tomorrow.

The littlest one I said wasn't looking too good I think has died from overwatering. I left her in there for 2 days with no water, and no change, she's tiny, so out she comes Leaving me with 3, but all looking good.
Anyways, Here's how things are looking now.....



You cant see it from this pic (sorry) but she has another 2 leaves just starting to grow but I'm concerned about the perlite on top of this soil, is it singed?


Should I put more soil in this pot? I heard it can make the root structure stronger?


This is the one I didn't germinate...... I like this one a lot, might keep her as natural as possible, with no nutrients?
