Your plants may still be too young to show sex. Give them 1-2 weeks into flowering period. Don't worry about male pollination. You seem to care a lot about your babies, and I'm sure if you see a male, you will identify and remove it before it pollenates your females plants. Good luck with the rest of the grow, and I will be watching carefully, as I am currently growing myself.

well as some of you will have read, 2 of my 3 have shown their balls So they've had to come out!

Leaving me with just the 1 Northern Lights Left, But she's a female

I started a powerplant 2 weeks ago, and its been under 12/12 for a week now, with claudia. She's small, but hopefully I'll get a couple of joints out of her.

As for claudia........ Today I thought about how to improve my yeild from her. I've decided to LST her and then set about FIM and Maybe Topping too? Just hope Dierwolf or someone else with good knowledge of the voodoo trickery stops by to lend advice?

She was LST'd a few hours ago and is looking like she's dealt with it fine, the light is now spread a lot more even, and the temp is 24.7C and humidity 51%. She's showing more pistels now and I'm very pleased to say she still has no balls

Just so you know, a high humidity (above 50%) can increase the chances of mold developing in the bud on the stem. It is typically best to keep it between 40%-49%. Just a suggestion. Anyways, looks great. Keep it up.

You think I might have a problem with humidit then? Do you know any ways of putting humidity into the room without spending loads? (I'm on a well tight budget, no job and xmas round the corner )

LOL just went in the room to put the new CO2 (yeast + sugar + water) in, half way through changing the bottle the light went off, dewds I just freaked LOL. Thought I'd somehow Broke the bulb or pulled the wire and pulled the plug out or summit LOL, took me a while to figure out that its jus the plants going to bed for 12 hours
Anyways....................... will post pics tomoro of how its going. How long till I should start counting the weeks down? (she showed pre-flowers befor being put into 12/12 so was ready)

Hi Kingbarley thanks for popping in.
VERY BASICALLY - FIM is where you cut 50-80% of the new growth off the top of the plant, unlike topping where you cut all the new growth off the top. The 50-20% left over will somehow split into 4 tops/colas of the plant.
- LST (low stress training) is what I am currently doing to my claudia at the moment. Basically you tie down the top of the plant so that it is just below the rest of the plant, this spreads the light across the plant better and gives the growth at the bottom of the plant a chance to catch up with the top. The top of the plant will (after a few days) need to be tied down again as it will grow upwards again. You should end up with a bush full of tops instead of a tall plant with only one top and one big cola. Hope that helps dewd.

I'd say now, or when you first saw signs of sex. But I know I heard Dier_Wolf say to start it at the first sighting of a budlet. And he has a good bit more knowledge than I.

as this is my 1st grow I have no idea what to look for, anyone have any pics of the 1st signs of a budlet so I can have a look please?
