yes I mixed it myself, as I'm on a tight budget, its just some left over seedling soil someone had lying around and its about 50/50 perlite. No I dont water more often, every 2 days. Was thinking maybe the drainage holes I put in the bottom of the cups wern't big enough??? thats the only solution I can come up with, wich is why I have transplanted 2 and will be transplanting the 3rd in 5 days due to my little test (see sig)

How big do you lot on GC make the holes in the bottom of whatever you use???

Well thanks for the interest dewds.

You'll be glad to know that all is looking very good indeed. They havent been watered for 3 days now and they've started to pick up. Thanks to everyone who pointed out they were over-watered, the problem must've been a lack of drainage. Anyways, I've been busy over the last few days and havent really had a chance to take pics, but did have the time to rip all that foil out and replace it with Black/White, Looks so much better in there now, and I don't hear the foil rattling all night long because the fan lol.

Looking good bud.Nice to see you've overcome your watering problem.The pots that their in now, is that the max size? i only ask cause i transplanted mine from 8" tall/ 8"wide pots to 10Ltr buckets.The growth has been fantastic, but a bit too big than what i wanted .Going to keep mine in smaller pots next time to compare.Just put 6 more ICE seeds in to germinate today along with planting 2 of my 3 clones.Hopefully all will be a good size and vegged long enough to throw straight into flower when my current grow is to finish, some time in December.
The mylr looks 100% better, good job

As I doubt my light will penetrate further than 12 inches these will be the final pots. I am thinking of switching to 12/12 when they get about 10 inches tall? I'll be using 1 200W 2700k Envirolite for flowering, so they cant be too tall.
I'm really happy with this light for veg, they definately aren't stretching and the temp is easily managable.
I have a remote thermometer/hydrometer in the cab with them, and the reader of it is always with me lol, but so far sice I've got the new fan in there the temp is sitting at a constant 25.3 and all the leaves and stems are dancing around in the wind lol

At the moment my grow is on hold because i dont know if i want to grow soil/hydro or not yet and realy can decide ?

What nutes are you giving the plants if you are ?

And last lol what mixture did you use for your soil ?

Hey there, sorry i've been super busy with my grow and work......haven't had a chance to check yours out again until now. You are doing a wayyyy better job then most first timers!!! Yours aren't stretched anymore than they should be (as most first timers are with flouros), and they are looking green and happy! I can definately tell that you were overwatering before as your pots look like mine do after a flush.......a good amount of perlite rises to the top....but thats after a flush. So if your soil was mixed good then you were definately overwatering. But all looks good now, good to see you got that taken care of. Another thing that could have been causing the plants to slow growth awhile back is that the cups you were growing in weren't light tight. They allowed light into the soil which could get to the roots......roots don't like light. Next round of germinating, put in a black cup or tape/black sharpie marker the clear cups to keep the light out.

About flowering.....i would atleast top your plants to keep them smaller or LST them. Like you said the light will only penetrate 12in. And actually it might not even penetrate that far so i would definately look into LST/topping. You can put into flower around their 5th-6th node or around 10-12in (sometimes shorter depending on their stretch) But i would shoot for around 6 nodes(mind you this will effect yield).....unless you get to LST'ing then you could keep tieing them over until alternating nodes or pre-flowers....this would be the ideal time to flower (without giving up any yield, but longer veg. time). But you can "force-flower" as stated earlier.

Anyways im sure theres some i missed so im goin to go look and see if i missed anything.

ok....the bent leaves just look like the after effects of overwatering....good thing you caught it early....they could have looked alot worse But they leaves that are affected look green, alittle yellow on the underside, but nothing to fret about. As long as you keep to a watering schedule and don't over/under water your new leaves should come out normal. If any new leaves come out like the affected leaves then let us know and we can start diagnosing. Anyways i would say just keep doing what your doing and you should be on the right track Till next time.

Hey dewd thanks for stopping by again.
Yeah the perlite all came to the top when I first watered the mix before the transplant lol.
After all my reading and planning I cant belive I did something as stupid as not light-proofing the cups
I was planning on attempting to top one of them, LST another, and try my hand at FIMing the 3rd. As I said somewhere near the start of this thread, this grow is not so much for yeild, but for me to learn.
I have read somewhere that the light I have (125W Envirolite) can penetrate to 12 inches, and that the 200W can penetrate upto 17 inches, I will try to find the infomation again.
What do you mean by alternating nodes?
So the bent lead is just another problem afected by my ovewatering lol, I am getting worried about underwatering them now though, its been 4days with no water but I still think the soil feels a bit moist when I stick my finger in about 2 inches down.

Have you thought about maybe a little hydro setup with a few plants potted in soil under the same light? experiment, and see what works for you

I'm not giving them any nutes yet but have a bottle of baby-bio (N-10.6 P-4.4 K-1.7) waiting for the right time.

The soil is just some crap I had lying around from before I can remember lol, here's a pic of the bag, thats all it says.=, on the back is instructions on how to plant seeds/clones lol but no info on whats actually in the soil fpmsl. I've attached a pic of the bag so you can see for yourself how shit it is lol, thats why I put 50/50 perlite in

As for the watering....hard to say.....during veg i watered every 4 days. During flowering i have been watering every 3 days. But i have a 400W MH for veg and a 400W HPS for flowering. Plus a couple fans going so my soil dries out fairly quick. Being that your using a fluoro its hard for me to say. But im sure someone on here will be able to help ya out a bit more with that.
