Well I have heard the HPS light burns with less heat than the MH bulb. I started indoor with the HPS bulb for a few days, then I raised the light as high as it can go and just put the MH back in. The first 4 days or so had irregluar light patterns, because I was trying to figure out what to do with the heat problem. I think I put a light stress on them, cause I think the growth slowed this past week.

i think
i think that yellowish color is due to a nitrogin defiency so try to boost the n up a little bit on that baby and oh man that temp with the hps was to high lol try to keep it around 80degrees thats perfect and like 40-60 % humidity

watching grass grow?
I am here browsing all the great journals, soaking in the knowledge, figured id post a couple more pics to pass the time....
They are all looking fairly decent, the one on the lower right hand side is the runt of the bunch, while the one above it on the right side is the best, other than the funky light green yellowish color on the leaves. Not all of them have this though, just my best one (go figure). These bagseeds all came from the same bag. I gave them a shot of Miricle Grow that had 12% Nitro with their watering. Couple questions, is it too early to tell what strain it is? Also, will the plants give you a sign of over-watering before it's too late? |

18/6
Today I have decided to go with the 18/6 lighting period for veg. It is just too damn hot outside, and the grow room was 90+ degrees today making the inside of my house hot with the AC going! I know I am probably gonna stress them out by doing this, I really have no choice. I will obviously make the 6 hour off time during the heat of the day. I would think the plants would enjoy darkness more than 100 degree temps.

Day 25 from seed
Update, thought I would throw some more pics in the journal. They are doing really well, they adapted to the 18/6 light cycle better than expected. Been giving them MG ferts with each watering about every 3 to 4 days.
Hopefully if I get time within the next couple of days, I would like to start lst'ing them. I will probably increase fert strength as the seem to be taking what I am giving them with no problems. |
