Wait. You said your first was like, 100w fluoro, and you got 25 Gs. I'm no mathemagician, but I'm sure that's less than .5/w. Just trying to get my facts straight so I can decide if I want to switch back to fluoros.

I also saw some 5-3-3 ferts at the store. They're cheap, so I'm just gonna get those and go x4 for veg, then x6 for flower. Lots of N!!

Great journal urgr8estfear. I'm going to be doing a fluro grow soon myself. Same problems, small warm area that I can't ventilate to well. I'm going to use two Double Biax T5/High Output bulbs that put out 9600 lms. Since my growing area is only 2.5 x 1.5 feet I'm hoping that will do the job. Two natural white for the seedling and vegging stages and then switching to red spectrum bulbs for the flower stage.

bluebong, it actually pays to read all that I write not just parts.
First grow 0.27 g/w. Second still running confident to get at least 0.5 g/w.
See the differences in the grows in you understand.

Technomage, welcome to GC!
Please post us a growlog on this forum.
I've never heard of those types of lamps before and I'd like to see how these Double Biax perform.
2x9200 lumens will do fine for that surface ; it's more then I got!!!

So...I did read it right. You got about 25 Gs from about 100w...0.25G/w, so pretty close. You gotta leave room for exaduration on the internet!

And as far as what you WILL get, we can't count that. You never know what happens in the future.

I'll definitley be doing a growlog. I consider it karma payback for all I've learned from the forums. Here's a link to what I'm planning on buying.

In theory you are perfectly right.
But in practice you are wrong, something called probability can help us here.
I've improved so many things since my first grow,
it's highly likely I'll yield more per plant then last time around.
And now I got three plants.
Easy math, conservative estimate I'd say...

That's a very nice piece of fluro technology they sell there.
If you buy two units, you get 18400 lumens for 230W.
I can't wait to see you start growing stuff with that!

Dude...oh my god. You are so concerned with sounding smart and being right and calling everyone else wrong, it's amazing.

How can you tell me I'm "wrong in practice" about something that has not happened yet???? I keep stating simple facts and you keep telling me I'm wrong based on nothing!!!

Maybe I don't want to do a growlog, just seems to open you up for bashing.

Personally I like seeing people try different things. I learn as much from the mistakes as the successes.

If you would actually bother to read all of my posts you'd notice I said probably and likely.

If you'd just bothered to read, you'd see that compared to my first grow for in grow I use :

power x2
surface x2
plants x3
air movement x10+
pot size x4

and more improvements.

It highly likely that I'll do 3x the yield of my first grow because of all this.
4x seems probable.
So 3.5 x 30g = 105 g which is about 0.5 g/w
I actually hope for more then this.

Maybe, just maybe, you should consider the remote possibility that I am actually smart & right.

Get over it!
And by god, READ before you start arguing.

STATUS UPDATE : DAY 115, DAY 24 flowering :

Life is great life is grand.
Everything is going as I hoped it would.
Tomorrow I'll do so form of LST with ropes or wires or so.
My plants are starting to pull those metal sticks I ust for LST out of the ground.
This means my plants are getting stronger!

Check it out :

Plant 1:

Plant 2:

Plant 3:

It's funny to see how the plant which grew best of all during vegging is actually producing less bud then the other 2.
I got lotsa theories as to the why but I'm not sure.

And finally a bonus pics, close up of bud with crystals:

and so my manifest continues!

O yeah, Technomage, please do not let one or two these guys scare you or demotivate you.
Please post us your glorius growjournal adventure!

I am not here to bash anyone. I merely stated the facts, but certain people did not like it, and took it personally. I respect all grows, and have said as much. Then again when someone is trying to say something that is not true, I surely will correct them. What it looks like to me, is that some people cannot take constructive criticism, and when it is given, they freak out, thinking that they are being attacked. If I were attacking it would have been a totally different set of posts.
For me it was this: I like the plants, they look very good. The veg under flouros looks great. I see a potential that will not be realized. Simple as that. I do not knock on anyone's grow. If it works for you then great. I merely gave my suggestions as to how to get the most out of what is there. If these plants could, (notice the word COULD), be finished under HPS, the yield would be greatly increased AND the buds would be fuller, thicker, heavier. That was my whole point. Since the crop is not done yet, and therefore you cannot say what these plants are going to do, my point is that they COULD yield a ton of big fat nugs.
That is all...

Odin,

This is a fluro grow.
I specifically chose for a fluro grow.
I'm happy with the fluro grow, they work great I think.
I explained in this thead why I like fluros and not use HPS.
Hell, the thread's title says FLURO ONLY.
Yet you keep on babbling about HID lights and how much better they are.

If you are so happy with the HIDs then thats great.
Start your own grow journal and tell everybody how great your HPS is there.
OK?

Jesus, stop the maddness. Someone man up and just say nothing. You two have literally repeated yourselves thirty eight to 7 brazillion times. Getting the last word isn't this important. I demand you both toke a kinship bowl in respect for each other. We are all blades of grass on the same lawn. We gotta look pretty and a lawn full of crab (pun intended) grass isn't a pretty lawn. The only weed allowed is the one we are all here to enjoy and share our experiences with.

I agree with the guy that said you just want to sound right. I said (AGAIN!) that I liked the grow and that I was not talking shit about it. You have now turned into one of those anti-HID guys, because I said that they work well. LOL How sick is that? I have yet to say anything to you, or about your grow. You are taking it personal that HID lights are more efficient.
