Re: paintballers

I played a few times but never could get into it. Something about me and my 2 friends using rental guns and everyone else on the field having $1000+ worth of gear.

It was like bringing knives to a gunfight, basically. I would get sniped from a hundred yards away when my gun couldn't even shoot that far, haha.

Re: paintballers

I like playing woods ball. I can't stand those blow up targets and neon colored paintball suits.

We generally get 4 people per side, and play squad level war games. We have a few combat vets, and split them up on each side.

It can be a lot of fun practicing small scale CQB. We generally only put 20 rnds in per tube, and 10 tubes to a load out (200 rnds, much like a full battle rattle load out w/ a MBR) to make it more realistic. It keeps the "spray and pray" down and forces you to use real tactics.

Lots of fun.

Yeah this is basically what me and my friends do. We're not into the whole speedball shoot as much as you can stuff. More into trying to out maneuver the other team on the playing field and using teams instead of mass amounts of paint. I wish it was warm so I could paly again, also money to play. Shits expensive

Re: paintballers

Woot! Played sunday in the snow and cold. Using my Sniper 2 that I though was leaking, but she pulled through for me. Sniped a few noobs throughout the day.

Only 7 people showed up but it was a great time nonetheless.

Re: paintballers

yeahhh id have to agree, woodsball is whats up.

i respect the speedballers out there but for me that game is too much spray and pray rather than actual teamwork and strategy

i went through a paintball phase a couple years ago, got the whole sniper getup and whatnot with the Longbow + ghillie goin on.

kinda outgrew it a lil bit but still go occasionaly and have tons of fun just runnin around town in that ghillie suit with my friends hahaha you wouldnt believe the ridiculous looks people will give you or the unawareness of their surroundings when you stand next to a tree in one of those things.

never tried it high though, i figure after a while i would either get too tired of running around and just leave to eat or i would get way too into it and end up bellycrawlin for 6 hours just to get a nice shot off

Re: paintballers

Speedball is definitely where it's at. I've gone through an old school Angel Fly, an XSV Ego a few years back and then grabbed a DM6 which blew me away. Haven't played in a few years but there are a precious few things in life that are as fun as a good speedball game.

Re: paintballers

speedball take 10 times the skill to play and woodsball is for fun. i have been around the sport for years....watched it delevop....ive played and been trained by the best(bea young..rocky cagnoni....mike paxton) and i can tell you with out a doubt theres more strategy and skill and teamwork in speedball. shit half the time is rec ball people dont even work together or call bunkers plus it take mmore skill when u have an identicel field...if u dont like woodsball you ultimately have one side with an advantage....not to mention for guy who play at the level i do go play rec ball and we bring 5 gor six guys we always have to split up cuz other wise we will run thro the feild everygame.

Re: paintballers

I'd love to get into it, but paint is so fucking expensive. Like 60 for 2000 rnds, which is expensive as hell

speed ball and woods ball are two completely different things. Thats like comparing the bunny slope to the terrain park. You gotta start some where.

I personally think woods ball is harder, cant see anybody, no one is telling you where people are. Dont get me wrong I love speed ball and its what I play but its just a game of common sense and controlled aggression. Ive played 2 or 3 times in the past two years and I can still walk onto the field, make snake off the break, and bunker people. But i guess its like riding a bike.
