Fun computer pranks

What are some pranks you like playing with people on computers? One of my favorites is to switch the mouses of two adjacent computers. Always surprises people.

Another good one, if you get the chance, is to take a screenshot of your friend's desktop, then set that as the background. Hide the Taskbar and put their icons in folder somewhere, hide the Recycle Bin, and pretend you don't know what's going on.

Another more mischievous one is to go into their boot.ini file and add:

/MAXMEM=[insert number here without brackets]

This, according to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb963892.aspx,

[l]imits Windows to ignore (not use) physical memory beyond the amount indicated. The number is interpreted in megabytes. Example: /MAXMEM=32 would limit the system to using the first 32 MB of physical memory even if more were present.

u can make some fun batch files and name it something stupid so that people click on it then they get like a billion popups or you can set them up to like shutdown their computer i am in computer classes in tech school and have a lot of spare time lol

This works best if you take the mouse thats actually hooked up to their PC, set it next to your console, and move it in unison with them when they move their mouse. Had a guy going for a good ten minutes like that

batch files are fun, i dont work with winblows anymore but i have a great batch script to brute force smb accounts rom across the network if anyone wants that.

There was something I used to do involving running regedit and making it so a popup window comes up before logging into your windows, and you cuold give it any message you like "stop downloading porn" or "your computer has 23098 viruses" or something to freak people out... I forgot how to do it now, and the forum that the tutorial is on is no longer active or available

google is my friend, i googled this thing and found another forum with a tutorial on it



Step 1: Open Registry Editor (Start -> Run -> "regedit" -> [Enter])

Step 2: Navigate to the following registry keys:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\LegalNoticeCaption
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\LegalNoticeText

Step 3: Change those two to whatever you want and the will appear next time you log in.

you could go into the control panel and change the mouse so the buttons work in reverse for left handed people
