so today in philosophy class...

...were were talking about how the supreme court recently ruled in favor of the folks in new mexico who wated to be able to drink the DMT tea as part of their religion.

the supreme court went against the bush administration of this decision btw.

i mentioned that it's possible now that a rastafarian could use this case as a precedent to get permission to smoke weed because it's part of their religion.

than this one indian (from india not native american) dude in the class starts talking really stupid shit. he was saying that in the hindu religion there is a certain drug or something that they take every now and than to help meditate and get closer to God or whatever. he said that should be banned because drugs are 'very bad'. the way this guy talks reminds me of either apu nahasapenpedlam (sp?) or the middleeastern dude who was van wilder's personal assistant on van wilder.

the teacher asked the dude about whether rastafarians should be able to smoke weed based on the precedent. the dude goes off into this tangent saying that marijuana is 'very bad, it's very bad my friend'
he said that when people smoke it, they go crazy and do violent things. i felt like putting the dude in his place but i decided not to and just let himself look stupid.

he sounded like a writer from freevibe or something.

Heh I wouldnt of been able to stop myself. Id have to get i a debate with him. Every drug thats part of a religion should be legal. America has rights, but we cannot excercise them without getting locked up. We mine as well just rip up the shit, freedom doesnt exsist.(for the most part).

So what did you say? I have to be honest man, I'm not the kinda girl to just sit back and not join in.. I'm notorious for playing devils advocate, even if it means defending a side I don't agree with (not the case here though).. I like to get people thinking when I'm in class... Did anyone stand up and defend the wonderful jeeba?

unless youre hitting it, who cares how you come off looking like?

marijuana cannot defend itself, so we need to.

You should have at least told him to get out of the 1930's and re-join reality.

i think the most effective way to change someone's mind about marijuana is for them to smoke a joint. but that rarely happens
