christmas present easily converted into cash

mmm my parents are straight edge and i cant just ask them for a grinder with a keif screen and a diffuser etc, so My question is... what present can I ask for that is easily converted into cash.. for drugs. like a gift certificate that I can spend 99 cents and get all my money refunded. I live in california if that matters?

Alot of my freinds do this.

If they get a gift certificate to a store, they will go to the store and try to sell it to a customer for like $5 cheaper. For example, if they had a $50 gift certificate, they would ask someone if they would buy it for like $45, or $40.

iv'e done that with gift certificates to malls many times, or just straight up trade that with ur dealer, you might get a bit less then the certificate is worth but its all good.

The only problem with that is your parents wondering what you bought with the certificates.

I know a lot of stores will let you return stuff even if you don't have a recepit as long as its something where you can tell if it has been opened or not... I'd get a video game and then just return it

haha yeah i have a lot of friends whose parents are like that, like they let them smoke but dont want it mentioned or to be a part of it. That gift certificate idea is pretty good selling it a little cheaper - never heard of it before but personally id rather just buy something at the store and enjoy it and buy w/e you want to buy with other money (enoen though thats not at all along the lines of your question)

asking for money is also a bad idea.. because anyone who asks for a certain amount of money, or just money, always has something in mind.. no one says truthfully, i don't want anything for christmas, just give me $30..
