My patience is wearing thin.

This is another one of those "I want to shoot my neighbors dog" threads.

First off, I should start by saying, that I am a huge animal lover, and pretty good friends with my neighbors. Keep that in mind.

But, their little dog next door yapping at 2AM in the morning, is really getting old.

I don't sleep a lot as it is, and when I do, I'm a really light sleeper. I have to wake up at 3:30AM for work 5 days a week, so you can imagine how much that sucks. Most nights I don't sleep until midnight, some nights I don't sleep at all.

It really aggravates me when I sleep good for an hour or so, and get woke up by a fucking dog that isn't even mine. It wouldn't be so bad if the dog stayed in their yard, but it doesn't. For some reason it always makes its way over in my yard, closer to my house, so I can hear it better. Sleeping with a fan on, can only drowned out so much background noise.

Some info on my neighbors: it's a hot milf, with 2 teenage kids. I've mentioned the fact that it keeps me from sleeping at night several times, but she never does anything about it. Normally, I'm a very confrontational person, but I like these people, and don't want to be a dick about the situation. Also, she knows I smoke weed, and knows where I work, so if she wanted to be a bitch, she could call my boss and rat me out. That's the last thing I want to happen.

I need to go about this diplomatically, which is out of the norm for me. How would y'all handle this ?

but dude i have a dog that randomly at sometimes if you're sitting in the room with him, he gets up and starts barking at something outside. a sound he heres, some footsteps, a train far away. someting to set him off.


hes barking cause hes protecting the house, so im not gonna punish him



not saying you're in that situation with that kind of dog. if its a little dumb dog that barks at nothing then ok i understand you.





hopefully none of my neighboors hate my dog. im sure they do, becuase (no offence to anyone but it seems to be true here) i live where there is alot of brown people(south east asia) and allot of them have never had a dog as a pet so they dont see it the same way as north americans. they like think its dirty, and pointless, and all the little kids are so amazed by it cause theyve never had a pet. i aint racist thats just wat ive observed from comments such as 'do you wash your hands after everytime you touch him' from one of the little kids. prob got the idea from his parents..

Pimp, there are no bad dogs, just bad owners. I'm pretty sure there are noise pollution laws that prevents loud noises after a certain time.

Tell them to train the dog.

I never hear him barking from inside of their house, only from the outside.

I'm also pretty sure it's stray cats he barks at most of the time. I've looked outside when I hear it, and never see anything out of the ordinary... we have a lot of strays in the neighborhood, so that's my only guess.

I understand that dogs bark to alert others of something suspicious. I don't have a problem with a dog barking, it's just the time of the night it's happening at. 9pm... fine, bark away. 2am is when I'm (and most normal people) are trying to sleep.

In most towns there's some kind of fine involved with dogs barking late at night so you could contact animal control and they wouldn't know it's you.

Plus for that kind of thing the cops/animal control wouldn't automatically fine them, they'd just give them a few warnings at first.

Tomorrow, I'm just going to go over, and straight up ask her to not let the dog out after midnight. I've been a cool neighbor and helped them out a lot, so I don't think it's asking too much.

Hell, I'd even buy a fucking bark collar for it if they'd use it.

I'd rather keep it between us neighbors. There's no houses on either side of us for a ways, so they'd know who it was. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I got some imput on this thread. Cause I got 4 f'cking little Jack Russel dog's and so many noises set them off outside... at all hour's of the day and night. Normally it's alright thow, cause when I hear my dog's barking. Only like 2 of them really bark alot, anyway I go yell at them. I kinda like having it thow, cause its a sense of security. There's been many times i've heard my BIG dog barking late at night, and I can tell this certain kind of bark. So i've grabbed my gun and ran out there. I'm kinda paranoid so I worry about people being in my back yard trying to steal shit, dont call me crazy cause it's happened a few time's.

Funny, cause I think they have a Jack Russel or some other similar terrier.

Do your dogs stay outside all the time ? They only let it outside to piss or shit, that's when it barks.

Maybe 5 - 10 minutes.

Long enough to wake me up. Then it's too hard to fall back asleep.

i didnt read other ppls responses but if she knows that you work early then id just explain this and say that youd appreciate it if she would keep her dog inside or do something to keep it in her own yard and keep it quite. i assume shes cool enough since she knows u smoke and doesnt care so just kindly make some suggestions and see where that goes. if that doesnt work, i suggest antifreeze.
