a quartz bowl?

hey i was wondering if there were any harmfull chemicals in pure quartz crystals? i had a crazy idea for a bowl lastnight and it just so happens i have a shit ton of realy big quartz crystals that i could drill out an turn into a bowl or a steamroller for that matter but i dont think there is because glass is mostly composed of quartz but i just want to be safe btw the crystals are just under a foot long

I dont know if its safe, But if you did it right that would so sick.

Please post pics if you do it. Or now, I wanna see a big pile of crystals lol.

I'm sure it would be fine, quartz is a/the main ingredient in glass which is the epitome of smoking materials, afterall.

The only thing I would be worried about is the quartz melting when heated up but it has a very high melting point (although slightly lower than glass) that will definitely not melt from lighting it up with a lighter so you should be good

yea i want to make a bowl of the crystal and grind oit the back and add a like sea shell stem

the shell is kinda like this kinda

its 4 inches long im going to cut the closed pionty part off and cut the other side flat and put it in the end of the quartz node

and the node like this will have a big bowl drilled out of the top and a little hole down the middle and a bigger one in the end for the shell to sit the crystal im using for this is lie 3 inches long by 3 wide roughly and i want to use this for a little stem for my bamboo bong.

then the realy big one is like 10 inches long and i want to make a hefty steam roller and im sorry i dont have a camera so i had to copy and paste

dude that would be sick man,if your successful with this idea, defiantly post some pics i wanna see it,i would just be worried of it cracking when your drilling holes in it.

god damn it took me like 4 hours to grind the quartz bowl for the firs one im making and its not even done quite yet i need to add the seashell now and im not selling this one at all it makes me happy but maby the next ones and if you want once i get my digital camera back ill post my shit load of other home made ones and my crystals too

there are some crystal mines down in arkansas that my family goes to onece a year i cant think of the place but im sure you could find it on google if you looked. its like 20 bucks for all day to dig for em and you can take out as many and much as you want to.

its takeing for ever tho i took it to school and worked on it in my art class with my teacher who btw gave me advice on a hooka im currently makeing

out of clay lol. but i need some help conecting the bowl to the stem any and all ideas are welcome btw it must be air tight ty
