would a cop dismiss a pot ticket for medical purpose?

I have a motor tick which means that I blink a lot. I never blink while high and my doctor sayes its becuase I have some type of hypertension of the muscles that make me blink, and weed relieves it.

If im smoking out in my car and a cop rolls up would telling him this help me not get a citation? I know I could be getting a med card but I feel bad about going to a care club because I dont think that my medical problems are severe enough for weed.

I know I live in california and weed is almost legal, but there are still cops here that fill their quotas by giving weed smokers tickets.

No, it's no different than drinking and driving. Especially if you don't have a medical card.

you can have it in the car, but if youre high and the cop knows it/can tell you are.. its still a ticket. med patients arent allowed to medicate and drive, youre still "impaired" in the eyes of the state.

So like even if I was in a parking lot with the car not on and I wasnt gonna be driving for another 2 hours until I was sober I would be givin a DUI?

I feel like blinking alot would be alot more distracting than being high. Maybe if you get a nice cop.

Yup, exact same rules as alcohol related DUI's. If you are in your car at all and impaired you can get a ticket.

okey lemme rephrase it. Lets say I was sitting in a park/parking lot next to my car and got caught with bud/caught smoking then could I possibly get outta the ticket.

This is slightly debatable. I've heard both ways from cops.... I've heard that you have to be in arms length to the ignition to get a DUI and I've also heard that you just have to be in the vehicle. My cousin got a DUI for drinking at a water park parking lot and he was sitting in the trunk of his jeep...

In the eyes of the law, yes theres no difference.

When it comes to real life, a toker is much more aware and alert than a drinker.

I feel much more safe inna car with a baked driver than with one who's even had a few drinks.

dude just get a cannabis card. if your doctor says it relieves your blinking then i'm pretty sure you can tell a cannabis doctor and they'll probably get you the card.

even if you think your condition isn't "severe" enough to have one, dude, just get one. your problem is a legit reason to get lots and lots of pot legally. i mean you smoke weed, why not get a card to have weed whenever you want?

plus it's remarkably easy to get a cannabis card in california anyways, i know plenty of people who just said they either had insomnia or some other mental condition. but if you just tell a cannabis doctor what your doctor told you, i'm sure they'll let you get a card.

if you get pulled over with weed i'm pretty sure you'll get arrested or at least all of it taken away. the only way you can get away with having weed is by having a cannabis card.

I know I want one but I feel like such a scummy douche. I have to go to a doctors office a lot where theres a bunch of little kids and adults who all have cancer and need the med cards, and im just some stoner who blinks a lot.

I may end up getting one just to have it on me, but I feel if im polite to the cop and explain myself to him the worst he/she will do is throw away the weed.

yeah well polite or not, marijuana is still illegal in california. just get the card dude, it can't hurt anything. you don't have to feel bad man, tons of people who don't NEED the card get it anyways.

just tell the cannabis doctor you blink so much that you can't concentrate on certain things due to your blinking problem. if you find the right doctor i'm sure s/he will be happy to refer you to a cannabis club.

Go get your medical recommendation, don't worry about others, the law is deliberately open for many qualifying conditions, and yours certainly qualifies. Check out the ASA website for a reputable doctor in your area, bring in a copy of your medical records, and get legal.

Even if you have your recommendation, you cannot medicate and drive, BUT you can medicate if the vehicle is not moving. You cannot medicate in parks though.
